New sound: Delicious Grace
Hello guys. First time here. I would like to introduce you to Delicious Grace. It's a musical project where they write their own songs. They are just starting out. The composer is very influenced by Jane's Addiction.
I know it's hard to pay attention to something you don't know nor have heard of but we are trying for one chance. Hope you like it:

The weak vocals are a dagger in the heart of what sounds like a promising tune.

Sounds pretty meh to me, sorry

Thanks for taking the time to listen to this.Pandemonium wrote:The weak vocals are a dagger in the heart of what sounds like a promising tune.
We're working on the vocal department, so to speak. At the time it was recorded there was only one person who could sing and he tried his best. That's not an excuse!
There are more songs to be recorded and I guarantee you will sound better.

I'm sorry but there are at least bits of song you guys liked? Not trying to force anything. Just a regular conversation.kv wrote:X2Mescal wrote:Sounds pretty meh to me, sorry
Re: New sound: Delicious Grace
Ok, I listened again. A bit more closely now.
I still think it's going nowhere. It's just some easy chord progressions at the beginning with no so good singing on it and then an end part with something that should be a piano and guitar Q & A thing. Not really well executed.
The end part has a November Rain ring to it though.
And I like the fact that you have a piano player. Even though he doesn't really add much.
So I'd say it's a beginning, but there's still plenty of work. Don't let this put you off, just keep writing more songs

Hi guys. It's been a while. This is a song I wrote called ''The Boy from Memphis''. It's still in demo status but I really wanted to share it with Elvis' fans (I guess we've got a few around here).
A humble homage to one of the greatest singers of all time. Hope you enjoy:

Not digging it. Sorry.

Lol what a thread...we're such a welcoming bunch
Re: New sound: Delicious Grace
Was that new track recorded inside a shoebox? Alternatively, were all the mics placed inside a shoebox and then the track was recorded?
Singing is hard. Especially singing in key, and at the right tempo. Sorry...

I think this is what it should have felt like hearing The Velvet Underground for the first time in 1967.
I think the world is not yet ready for this.

It needs work. You seem to really give a shit about your music. I respect that you sought people out to listen...likely a great deal more than this angry mob. Keep at it...have a short memory and sift the bs to find any constructive criticism that might help.
Re: New sound: Delicious Grace
Meu irmao,
The vocal melody lacks creativity and drags down the nice arrangement. I got the feeling that the music could work, but having the vocals just sing the root of the chords as they are changing is a huge waste. It detracts from the song.
Finally, just one friendly advice: work hard on your songs, not just adding stuff to them, but also taking away shit. Rework them, at different tempos, in different styles, and then decide what you like about them. You’re currently not writing like your 15th album and it needs to be out before the big tour. You ought to be taking the time to find your own voice, whatever esch of you do in the band. If someone is a friend but is not contributing properly, kick them out. Unless you care about having them in the band more than you care about having a promising, potentially successful band.
Keep it up!
Abraço.

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen to my songs. That really is awesome! And I'm not talking about whether you liked it or not. Everything you guys say are taking in consideration for sure.
Larry B., thank you for the detailed review. That means a lot. Abraço, cara!
SR, thanks for the support.
Hokahey, I've gotta keep trying, man. But I do appreciate your honesty.
crater, I had that same feeling about STP a time ago but I really got into their sound. Especially after Scott Weiland joined Velvet Revolver and I got to know him better.

Hello everybody. I usually don't write about this particular subject but I couldn't help it. Here it goes a political statement about something really wrong. Take it for what it is.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but it isn’t.

Re: New sound: Delicious Grace
Just to be clear: it’s not that I didn’t like it. It’s a weak song poorly performed.
