Stone Temple Pilots

#1 Post by JOEinPHX » Tue Nov 14, 2017 5:48 pm

...has a show tonight in LA. Their first with their new singer.

And has been slowly revealing, over the last few days, cover art for something that is either a song or ep/album.

I'm keeping my eye on Twitter tonight to find out any info I can.

Sirius played 3 songs from their soundcheck

Jeff sounds great. I look forward to seeing them live.

I just hope the guy can write a decent song.

It's super weird that you can find your way here and post that response but don't know how to use Google.

They do sound good, but I just can't get into bands that I used to love that have new singers. I wish they would just call it something different, but I understand that they deserve the right to play those songs.

Thanks for the tip but did I ask who he is?

I stated that I never heard of him.

LOL, nothing brings discord to a Jane's board like STP discussion.

This isn't the Jane's part of the board, this is the off topic section.

I like the new song, by the way.

This is probably just a teaser and the most "pop/accessible" of the songs they wrote together.

There are apparently 14 songs and the new album will be out in early 2018.

Yeah, I wasn't saying it didn't belong, just saying it's funny how often this community argues about STP.

well anyways, I also thought the new song was pretty good.

Maybe I want you to think I didn't know you Googled him so I could tell you to Google him when you asked me. Did you ever consider that?

Sirius posted a pretty awesome video of STP doing Still Remains (apparently for the first time ever)

Jeff knocked it out of the park.

They had never played it live? That's my favorite STP song. I'll tell ya, Purple was one of my favorite albums.

Jeff did an ok-ish job in it. It's non offensive. I'll give it that. I still have zero interest in this.

ehh. It was good, just weird. Two dead singers. I get they totally have a right to play those songs and continue, especially because Scott derailed them so much years ago. But, it's just done. Call it something else. Well, I guess if anyone needs to cash in now, it would be these guys.

They aren't cashing in.

Cashing in would be doing a tour playing an entire album front to back and charging 90 bucks a ticket. Which they could do, since it's Core's anniversary. But they aren't, because they aren't dwelling on the past.

They are recording, and releasing, a new album with this dude.

They already dropped one new song the day of their first show together, where they played a set featuring a whole lot of NON-hit songs. New album is coming early 2018. They already have 14 songs in the can.
