I was mostly fine with it till I got to Imagine Dragons and Halsey.

Then it just turned the whole thing into every other festival.

Robert Plant and Greta van Fleet on the same bill? Could get ugly. Real ugly. Real fast

Booo! Bring out Sha-Na-Na!

Seriously though... what did you expect? Raising people from 50 years ago from the dead? That is about as good a lineup as I could imagine for the kind of show that this is supposed to be (grandparents take your kids to the thing you wish you'd gone to when it wasn't a corporate nostalgia cash-in).

They have Cherry Glazerr AND Pussy Riot? Day 3 looks amazing...

Sturgill Simpson's pretty impressive too, if you're into that sort of thing.

I feel like these festivals are just getting too big.

You look at everyone on the lineup and go "wow, I get to see all those bands?"

No, no you do not.

Because they are going to have 5 stages, and 3 of them will be running at the same time. You are forced to choose, and walk a half mile between stages for the pleasure of that choice.

Festivals need to be smaller. 2 stages. The way Lolla used to be. One stage nearby, the smaller stage, with up and coming bands to expose you to new music. And it's running while the mainstage is doing changeover.

I went to Innings Festival here in Phoenix a few weeks ago. Done by the same company as Lollapalooza. And that's how they ran it. Food and drinks were located between the two stages. You see a band, walk to the next one, grab stuff on the way. It was perfect. I didn't miss anyone on the bill for any reason. That's how this shit should be.

How the fuck does Perry think he should be above Slash? Or Fitz and the Tantrums?

Also, 95% of that lineup is trash. Absolutely trash. It's basically Coachella 2.

I was talking to some younger people the other day who follow rock music and after seeing this Lollapalooza line-up they were like "fuck Jane's Addiction those sell-outs ruined Lollapalooza and they were one of the original corporate plants". Time is a funny thing.

She's a better singer than Bono, and funnier.

Lollapalooza has sold out in past years without having to pay a Disney celebrity to headline.

I think this is the year they finally decide to just ignore the music and start pushing it as another destination weekend for rich kids to take selfies and promote themselves on Instagram.

My brother and I have gone 9 times. If this is what future lineups look like, we won't see a 10th.

But that's ok. There are literally dozens of festivals 2-3 days in length that happen all around the country happening all year round.

I mean once they had Metallica headline it was over...and that was in the 90's...only cool one was the first...it's all a cash grab evolving based on mass appeal tastes...our underground tastes just went mainstream for a few years with alt breaking :noclue:

I haven't been since 93...I was 23 then...if I was 23 now I'd prob be stoked with the lineup :jasper:

You have missed out on 2 decades of good Lollapaloozas

The destination festival in Chicago has been pretty incredible.
