Proposals for 2020

#1 Post by Larry B. » Tue Dec 31, 2019 11:28 am

How about we setup a ‘movie club’ or ‘album club’ that discusses a movie every month, or an album every two weeks?

We sort of do this in the general threads, but maybe this could encourage a bit more specific discussion (particularly in movies), maybe some in-depth takes on the philosophy of certain scripts, or how strong certain artist is influencing another artist’s album, etc.

Maybe the top/best reviewed albums or movies of the last 10/20 years could be discussed, so as to avoid very niche proposals and/or classics that might have already been talked about by everyone.

We also need some food for flame wars.

But seriously, it might be interesting.

Anyone?

Nice idea.

Gotta get some recruits though, we can't even support a typical thread here anymore.......

What's really different from saying "I watched/listened to this, anyone else like it?" in Art's new band/musician thread and the Movie thread?
:noclue:

Maybe require people who visit to respond......even if it's just "present!"

Maybe something like that, but at the same time, it wouldn’t be like an obligation to watch a movie... sometimes, life happens and it’s alright. But it would br really nice to have something *else* we could talk about and that we all might have opinions on, whether it’s the audio quality, the script, the album liner notes, the directing, etc. So yeah, if we decide on one movie, try to watch it!

I’m in too, obviously. And I could “set up” as needed.

I saw Baby Driver recently. Pretty lame I wouldn't recommend it. I also saw A Quiet Place which was pretty cool. They alresdy finished filming the sequel. It has the three main characters and then Cillian Murphy and Djomon Hounsou
