I like how the whole Venice Beach thing going on in the video. I wish Jane's would rep their roots as well as these guys.

I don't agree, I think Jane's have matured in a better way than the Chili peppers. Both Irresistable force and ETTL are far better songs than that Raindance song

I agree with the exception of AK's appearance and the new guitar player. Not a fan of that mustache and the jet black hair. Klinghoffer just doesn't do it for me as a player especially during the little solo break, at least on this song. I do like the song though, simple as it is.

My thoughts too Matz. Both Jane's songs kick that one out of the window imo.

I did not like the last Peppers album(s) and i don't think i'll like the new one. I could not even go through the whole video.

Especially Josh bothers me. It does not fit at all, i don't know his qualities as a player but seeing him acting and moving in that video, sorry - it's just a no-go.

I don't think it's fair to judge Josh until we hear the album.

Anyone notice Harry Perry in the video?

Simple doesn't necessarily equate to bad.

How long has he been playing that same guitar? 15 - 20+ years easily? It's been probably a decade since I've wandered around Venice but yeah, I noticed him and a couple other boardwalk old-timers in that clip.

Well, he was in Gift and that was filmed in 1990 (21 years ago!); I met him on Venice Beach in 1999.

I guess I can see liking the new jane's songs better than these, that's a matter of taste. But to say Jane's has matured better than the Peppers seems crazy to me.

I just meant that I like the Jane's songs a lot more. As to whose band that has matured the best I don't know, cause I don't know what parameters you're judging it by

Yeah and its funny as Fru was a huge Slovak fan and Josh is a huge Fru fan so it makes sense.

I'm not I'm just saying its a pattern. Young Fru was a beast of a player, something Josh is not

i think juana's right, considering the fact that bot guitarrists got snatched from bob forrest adds up to that pattern.
still john was a young prodigy when he joined and josh is a thirty year old player with quite some session work on his back.
i like josh's overall playing, i got to see him playing with pj harvey and even though i had no idea who he was back in 2003/4 i was very ipmressed with that guy playing in such a dark manner, and switching ocasionally to a 2nd drumkit.
then came all of john's solo albums and though i'm not sure when he's playing what, those 2005 albums are pretty solid in my opinion. so is the empyrean.
plus, his work with bob forrest is very pretty too.
he's a fine musician. if his horizontal way of understanding music has a positive influence on rhcp's songwriting remains to be seen. but i've seen on youtube some of his playing on john's songs and i'm not disappointed :wiggle:

just wait for Larry B to show up and shit on everything i've just said :kv:

I admit, I wasn't into this single at first but I'm liking it more and more. The video is ok. How many times have we seen the band on the rooftop. Josh is aping Froosh a bit but he kinda does that when I've seen video of him playing with Bob Forrest. Froosh loved Hillel and copied his style heavily on MM. Josh is doing the same although as was said already he's not the virtuoso that John is and was at that time.

I'm With You is streaming in its entirety on their official website at 3 PM EST. Heard a few preview clips on the radio, one song sounded really promising, the rest were just decent. Sounded like a lot of slow tempo stuff from what I heard.
