I'm going to have to give it a miss. $140 for standing plus travel and accomodation to London on a Saturday night.

For two people that's EASILY a $700 night out.

Reviewing the dates and opening acts, I'd prefer Thundercat and Anderson Paak. I also saw Haim. I really don't understand that. If I've heard them on the radio, I don't know it, but I did see them on SNL a while back and it was awful.

Damn, i promised my 10 year old son I would take him. It’s gonna cost an arm and a leg :yikes:

Unrelated to this tour, Alain Johannes who was in What Is This with Hillel, flea and Jack (and who I’ve only just realized has had a big career in music with QOTSA and Chris Cornell) found some mega old tapes from when they were at school and called Anthym. Pretty damn cool man!

All of this is sweet (except the hit to your wallet). I took my kiddo to NINJA...he was 13 I believe. At the time I wanted him to see EA in the band  . He did, and I am glad we went. As for Alain, I had heard of him for years but didn't know of his RHCP connection. That song is rough, but good. I like the author's comparison to Rush and Sabbath.

Thanks man! I got the 2 cheapest tickets I could, they are seated right at the back but it’s ok coz I saw the chili’s a lot of times 96-08 including some pretty small club shows and I reckon my boy will just be stoked to be at a rock concert! I took him to see Slash and Myles Kennedy in Verona 2 years back and he loved it until he crashed and burned 20 minutes into a never-ending guitar solo 😂

Very nice. It's been 17 years since my kiddo was 10. I remember being at some motorcycle/picnic type event where George Clinton was playing and was so excited to show him. He was having none of it. :noclue: Enjoy!

Thanks SR! I’m excited about it! I’ve been listening to the support bands for the last week, pretty cool stuff too!

DB, some of my best memories are of taking my kiddo to concerts. Jane's Living Colour, NIN, Fleetwood Mac, Prince, etc over the years have been just great. My only regret is we didn't do more. He texted me yesterday implying we were going to this show, so I guess I am going to have to get lucky or fork out a king's ransom.

Just checked and it looks like you got A Paak and Thundercat. The latter's Come Down is a lot of fun. It's on the album Malibu, which is great but I think Oxnard is his best.

Not exactly the intro to Under the bridge 2, but still, could be worse

Yes, I saw that on all of their IG accounts. I am pretty confident this will be a quality drop. I am a firm believer in JF. Looks like we'll see pretty soon. I liked their output with JK too.

Vid is AK centric, and the tune is pretty tame and boring upon first listen. Well,16 left to hear.

Here's the vid..

The song is okay... on my first listen.

two seconds into Anthony singing it was over for me. What a shame. That song is not gonna go over well at stadiums this summer

Whether coincidental or not, BSSM has 17 songs as well

It has almost 3M views in less than 24 hours on YouTube. Someone likes it.

Personally I think it’s weird and sea shanty and it’s definitely a grower. I’m loving it at this point. Light years ahead of the last two non John albums

2 seconds is 95% of the fair shot he gave them. Tons more time has been spent trashing them.

Weird on the non JF albums. What didn't you like?

We're all getting old....

Song is ok to me. Not good, not bad so pretty generic.

No funk left in the Peppers though.... wonder if we get any Flea centered songs. Flea is one of my bass heroes, but this could have been played by anybody.

I know I shouldn't stay stuck in the past and it's been 25 years, but I'd listen to coffeeshop over this any day of the week.

As someone who likes RHCP but is a very casual fan (I've only owned BSSM and OHM), this is incredibly boring. It sounds like it was made using a modern era RHCP song template, but in this one, AK sings with an accent!

RHCP have a lot of super die hard fans that praise anything RHCP do no matter what it is. That explains the 3 mil thing. The kind of people who think Stadium arcadium is a better album than BSSM. Needless to say, I don't respect them a lot

When I wrote that it was over for me after 2 seconds, I didn't mean it literally, but fast ok? That vocal melody is weak and clumsy as hell, and the guitar and bass parts underneath the same. Dark Necessities, the first single from their last album, is a much stronger song. RHCP just continue to fade and I think it's hard to watch.

I am a (born-again) die-hard Chili’s fan.

First couple of listens I was a bit underwhelmed and disappointed that they’d played it safe. Also a bit confused by Anthony’s accent.

However! After several listens I love it, especially Anthony’s Irish pirate impression! Can’t wait for the album!

Still not loving it. Nice to reconnect with JF in the band. What’s odd to me is they put this out as the first single. In the balance of the album there will be radio friendly funk self tributes. Interesting to see their endgame unfold

I've still not listened to it, I'm waiting for the whole thing to drop so I can listen front to back as they meant it from a sequencing perspective
