Is this the first time Billy's had a male bass player in SP?

Yup...one site's headline was like "Hell Freezes Over: Billy Corgan recruits male bass player".

Seriously though, I don't see why it matters either way.

He played at least one show (under the SP name) with Mark Tulin of the Electric Prunes on bass, as you can see below

Modern Pumpkins are to Siamese Dream what TGEA is to Ritual.

Billy can still write a song. They just sound like crap. Like Perry, and Maynard and Trent - he ditched his trademark vocals for more sing songey crap. And for god's sake Billy, can you bring back the distortion petal/big muff sound for just one record?

Maynard does not make sing songey crap.

Maynard has always been able to sing.

10,000 Days is fucking terrible because of his voice. Not because he can't sing, but because it doesn't fit.

As one myself, ALL aging rock vocalists end up changing they're approach over time...usually you're just kind of forced because you can't hit it the same as you used to and then it tends to change the way you write the vocal parts...

10,000 Days is terrible because for the most part it's filled with self-indulgent masturbation passed off as TOOL genius that "real fans" "get"...

Right. I shouldn't have implied that Maynard's voice is the only cause of 10,000 Days' terribleness. I wanted to love that album so much. But I hate it.

:) So spot on.

Even seeing 'em live on that tour was terrible.

I saw em during Lateralus which is one of the better shows I've ever seen

Apparently Dave Pajo, the bass player for Corgan's short-lived band Zwan attempted to commit suicide last night following a number of very disturbing, attention seeking posts on his blog and Instagram. Looks like he was broken up over his wife cheating on him although he seems a bit bent to begin with:

I think I'm going to catch this show. I tried to get tickets for Marilyn Manson earlier this year but the show was sold out.

It's depressing to see the bands from my youth all washed up and playing package tours the way bands from the 70s and 80s did in the 90s.

And charging 90 dollars a ticket too. I was going to go to this, but the ticket prices are ridiculous. Pearl jam charges 75 bucks, and they have all their original members and play 3 hour sets.

Smashing Pumpkins and Marilyn Manson charging that much? Not a chance in hell.

They've never broken up, but they've had multiple drummers.

And are right back with the guy who drummed on their demos for their first album: Matt Cameron

All original members in tact.

Besides that Pearl Jam 20 documentary (very good btw) I've not given Pearl Jam any attention for probably 20 years now. I just know they've had a lot of different drummers.
