Jptm thanks for the download link. I'm really digging the new album. At first oceania was the track that got stuck in my head. Then pinwheels, and now pale horse. It's really good stuff. I was a big pumpkins fan when I was younger. I know it's sort of wussy and stuff but I was a romantic and it fit my awkwardness. It makes me smile a :thumb: nd reminds me of a simpler time.

Someone needs to post a mini Wiki of the Jane's Online Community Bad Boys. I wasn't really around for the Whores-board era so I only know these people from hearsay and allusion, no backstories.
So there was.. um..
Miggy
Adolph (Dain?)
Satan's Gopher Boy
Feek (does he count?)
..who'm I forgetting?

Not so much. More like hyperactive oddball nice guy. He is still one of my all time favorite people from these boards, and I believe he's the only currently banned user here.

:noclue:

I miss my packages he'd send me. With drawings of birds and random shit on them.

Pretty elaborate set, my only complaint is not including the complete Brixton show - that's an amazing nearly 3 hour show:

I'm going to see them on Thursday. $57 tickets for $17, so I couldn't pass it up. Not expecting a whole lot, but we'll see.

Be aware they're playing the entire Oceana album as the first 13 songs of the show, then roughly 10 songs of older stuff along with a couple "classic rock" covers (Bowie, Led Zep, T-Rex, KISS, etc).

Not too bad, I paid $10 for tickets, with fees came to $17 and change, so I was happy with that. First off the show was at my college Saint Louis University. They've built a basketball arena since I finally graduated, holds about 10k, for a concert I'd say maybe 4-5k. So our seats were pretty good, and I'd say maybe 3k to 3,500 there. Not too bad, but they were also running Groupons for tickets then they ran the $10.57 special that I jumped on. Anywho, Oceania isn't my favorite album. The 2 songs on it that I dig, Chimera and Inkless, my buddy's who went who had heard nothing of the album also thought were the best. Cherub Rock overall was the best song and was properly smoked. X.Y.U. also ripped. Now the sound was totally hit or miss. Part of that was the arena I'm sure, since I know its not built for a concert. So they finally got all the bass out of the sound, but then it was really weird. One song would be absolutely perfect, then a song like Bullet with Butterfly Wings you could barely hear the guitar, same thing for Zero, then Muzzle and Cherub Rock were smoked. So the band was fine, but the venue/sound mix left a bit to be desired. Overall I was happy that I didn't pay the $57 face value after fees my ticket was worth. Here's the setlist:

Set:

Quasar
Panopticon
The Celestials
Violet Rays
My Love Is Winter
One Diamond, One Heart
Pinwheels
Oceania
Pale Horse
The Chimera
Glissandra
Inkless
Wildflower
Space Oddity [Bowie]
X.Y.U.
Disarm
Tonite Reprise
Tonight, Tonight
Bullet with Butterfly Wings
Shock Me [KISS] (tease)
Detroit Rock City [KISS] (tease)
A Song for a Son
Zero
Cherub Rock

Encore:

Ava Adore
Whole Lotta Love [Led Zeppelin] (tease)
Muzzle

I cant fucking believe they're charging $57 for that show. I understand you got yours for less, but that's a fucking crock of shit.

My personal favourite from Oceania. I like it because he's not trying to ape Siamese or Mellon Collie on it. And it's got a great hook.

really, I think it's pretty cheap to see a band like that. If they played here it would be double that I think. I'd gladly pay 57

That hook is U2's "Bad" on a Casio.
