It's been reported on in several places too.

Only NY, Chicago, and LA have sold well.

It's been super slow everywhere else.

I mean, it's not like it's 1993. I'd probably walk to KC if it was.

We'll see. I might go. But it feels a lot like seeing Jane's at this point. Some asshole you know you don't like, wearing a mask of who he used to be, playing music you know you love but without the original bass player. Ehhhhh

There are still middle stage floor seats available in KC. Clearly no one is going.

I'll be curious who they tap as an opener. The right band could sway me.

Yeah I wonder who's opening, is it gonna be an old band like the pumpkins or someone new. Hopefully not the band Live that Janes brought on tour back in 2001.

Terrible. I thought they'd be smart enough to rehash the Siamese Dream sound for their damn reunion album. But no. Just more generic rock. I'm suddenly feeling much better about not seeing them on this tour.

That would be them selling out, if they tried to rehash Siamese Dream for mass appeal.

At first I was being a diick and thought “It’s no Zero” but I listened to it on its own merit and enjoyed it.

It sounds like Oceania

Which is fine, because that was a solid album.

But... with James and Jimmy back in the band shouldn't it sound different from when he was using fill-in musicians?

Also, those lyrics are so fucking generic and paint-by-numbers that I am shocked Rick Rubin didn't tell him to start over. Although, after 20 years of working with the RHCP, maybe he thinks this is good in comparison :noclue:

I'm still looking forward to the show, but it WILL be the one and only time I see them, because Billy shouldn't be rewarded for laziness.

Not too bad a song I think, but a far cry from the Adore stuff for instance

Solara sounds a lot better played live. BTW, who's the 3rd guitarist and bass player?

I like how they make the bass player play behind everyone in the dark. Poor guy.

3rd guitar player is Jeff Schroeder.

He's been Iha's replacement in the band since Zeitgeist.

Bass player is Jack Bates. He's Peter Hook's son.

They played a surprise warm-up show last night in Hollywood at the Troubadour club. Set looks pretty solid. The few vids are pretty crappy but the band appeared solid.

Hummer
Siva
Rhinoceros
Bullet With Butterfly Wings
Muzzle
Drown
Soma
Solara
The Everlasting Gaze
Zero
Stand Inside Your Love
Porcelina of the Vast Oceans
Tonight, Tonight
Ava Adore
Today
Encore:
Transmission (Joy Division cover with Davey Havok)
1979

Pretty funny clip of Pumpkins covering Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart with a typically hammered Courtney Love, Peter Hook and Davey Havok. Apparently this was a pretty unusual, no-frills show with lots of guests that included songs they either haven't played in a while (Snail, Bodies) and first-time covers including Hole's Celebrity Skin and Malibu (with Courtney) and Judas Priest' Breaking The Law(!)

She'll be in the dead celeb thread soon. Painful to watch...she might be simpathetic if she wasn't CL.

This is beyond atrocious. Really.

I wouldn't expect anything more...or anything at all, from CL. And she met that zero expectation. Just.
Corgi is an utter joke. Insert Uncle Fester quip. It's pathetic.
What's worse that both of the above is Hooky's insistence (of trying) to cash in on the JD legacy - this only detracts from it, and there is no payday for him (which is his only driver, at this point in time).

What a cluster.
