I just always think it's funny when people listen to something that sounds exactly like what it should sound like, and they are surprised.

I know a guy who was absolutely shocked Trent didn't use any heavy guitars on Survivalism and proclaimed his career to be over as a result. Apparently that dude has never heard Pretty Hate Machine.

Covers like this simply display an interpretation of the original. This one kills it.

The Drop in the Bucket covers were facimiles of the originals, and to that I can still appreciate them as that's really all I do when I play drums. Not easy for a hack.

It's funny, when I posted the preview of this track back on Xiola when it was attached to the "unofficial" trailer for the movie, most people didn't like it, an opinion I share. I've liked, even loved almost every Reznor/NIN cover since day one but this one leaves me cold. It really sounds like a lazy Reznor-by-the-numbers cover with the bullet mic/fuzz vox, electronic looped drums and Heresy-style guitar/synth.
