just like the affair we differ

probably my least favorite character...well maybe he is tied with dar adal
im enjoying this season so far bc i think its been pretty entertaining. the iran stuff is boring so far, but the carrie storyline is good enough for me.

i gotta say though, i laughed out loud when quinn grabbed the reporter, choked her, dragged her through the house, and pushed her down the stairs. it was so utterly ridiculous. and then we saw no fallout from it  this show certainly plays with believability, but it always has

Not to say the show isn't getting ridiculous, but isn't there some doubt as to whether the woman thrown down the stairs was really a reporter? :noclue:

She was...I mean everybody outside her house were :noclue: And well the swat team was sent to kill him. I'm just glad Peter is finally fed up with Carrie. Kudos to him!
Saul is always falling for women he just met. Is it just me or wasn't he giving lovey dovey eyes to the latina FBI/CIA (I forget) agent back in NYC?
I'm really digging this season.

I don't know who's worse...Carrie or Dar? I just don't feel sorry for her since season 3.

This is from a small part of a review regarding last night's episode:
And seriously, isn’t Quinn on his tenth or eleventh life by now? The guy is like Jason freaking Voorhees at this point: just flat-out unkillable. The only things that will survive a nuclear holocaust? Cockroaches… and Peter Quinn.

I still think Rupert Friend deserves an Emmy for his work this season, but the writers are really pushing it.

This is the full poem Rupert Friend recites in the video:
https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems- ... ks.twitter

Dulce et Decorum Est
BY WILFRED OWEN

Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs,
And towards our distant rest began to trudge.
Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots,
But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots
Of gas-shells dropping softly behind.

Gas! GAS! Quick, boys!—An ecstasy of fumbling
Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time,
But someone still was yelling out and stumbling
And flound’ring like a man in fire or lime.—
Dim through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

In all my dreams before my helpless sight,
He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.

If in some smothering dreams, you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil’s sick of sin;
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,—
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori.

I think someone here has a crush on him since they post a lot about him.

I stopped watching a few episodes in. Not sure I will get back to it. Veep and The Leftovers start next week so not sure I have room for it.

If this was the last show of the series, I'd be happy with how this episode ended.

Well he is very handsome.

I thought his portrayal of Quinn this season was outstanding.

He reminded me of Christian Bale playing the crackhead brother of Marky Mark in that boxing movie. Bale won best supporting actor for that,

Yeah so far its okay but I think that the story has been dragging on for far too long at this point. TWD comes back Sunday so I have a feeling I will be missing the rest of Homeland this season

My wife still follows this show, thus I get to watch it. Carrie has become one of the most annoying, unlikable characters on tv. The bit with a whole ep about her laptop getting ransom hacked ..... ugh. I bet she winds up using the hacker to work for her in future eps.

I thought the last three episodes were the best of what has been a dud of a season. I did not, however, find the final scene very moving since the main character has evolved (or devolved) into such an unlikeable, annoying person.

Did anyone else wonder how Anson (the CIA guy driving Carrie through the Russian streets) got back to the states after he purposefully crashes his car? Was he detained?

Haven't watched the latest ep so I can't comment. I agree the show has taken a hard turn for the better since the O'Keefe subplot was kind of wrapped up and discarded and the Carrie personal drama has been marginalized.

Watched the season ender last night. Sorry, I take back everything I said about the tail end of this season being an improvement. This last ep was pretty stupid. So many wtf moments. Basically, all this work was done at great risk, cost and total lack of viewer credibility only to have Keane resign to jolt the American public out of hyperpartisanism, join hands and sing Kumbaya? And the final bit with bug eyes Carrie at the end ... come on... not a good incentive to stick with the next next season.

I didn't watch last season but now I have nothing to watch so I watched the first three episodes of this season. They were OK.. Luckily I haven't seen that quin guy so hopefully he is dead. I see Carrie is still a horrible mother.
