Worth checking out just for the four major characters in the flick who are all dumb and amoral as it gets (especially Ansel). It's funny, I immediately recognized the actress with the big snatchpatch as the one in the laughably bad movie "Showgirls" a decade or two ago.
i wanted to see that and i forgot about it. might as well give it a try.
It's well worth checking out. It's not perfect by any means, but aside from early Tarantino, it also reminded me of Fargo-era Coen Bros. You'll never look at a KFC chicken leg the same way after seeing this movie.
so i watched it...it was sort of disturbing. not bad...definitely worth a rental. i sort of imagine this is how everyone is who lives in texas. i kind of wanted to see gina gershon's boobs to see how they held up over time but all we got was her hairy vagina.

Oh thats who panda meant with the showgirls reference? I thought he was talking about the chick from saved by the bell.

Gina Gershon will always be best remembered to most of us by this flick...

The Hobbit - 8.5 out of 10

Being the comic book, sci-fi, fantasy loving geek that I am, I enjoyed the movie quite a bit. Even the cheesy parts didn't get on my nerves as much as I thought they would.

I want to watch the Hobbit, but still thinking about it. I finally watched Life of Pi. First time I thought special effects helped telling the story and were not the only good thing. Wish I had seen it in 3D

I finally saw Looper this week on blu-ray. Completely spaced seeing it when it was playing in theaters and really had no idea what the plot was about other than it concerned time travel in some way and featured Bruce Willis (could be describing 12 Monkeys, lol!). So I was going in fresh with no expectations one way or the other.

Turned out to be one of the better surprises of any movie from 2012 that I've seen. The movie kind of falls into three acts and just when you think you've got the plot sussed out and know how everything's gonna shake out in the end, the movie takes a major detour in another direction. I won't go into further spoiler detail but it certainly pulls the viewer's loyalties and emotions towards certain characters in unexpected directions and is easily one of the better time paradox-type movies I've ever seen (including... you got it... 12 Monkeys). HIghly recommended.

i thought it was decent. not as good as i expected it to be. maybe it was because of joseph gordon levitt....not a fan of that guy.

I saw Hyde Park on Hudson.

That was boring.

I will see Lincoln next. Should be a thriller!

I want to see it sooner rather than later, and in the theater, because segregation/slavery and how we dealt with it is heavily on my mind.

They still think there is a 'war' going on down there......... :balls:

Lincoln over delivered. Co written by Doris kearns Goodwin. DDL is a lock for the Oscar, not that I give a fuck really, but he will win. I've only said that once before with Sorkins writing the social network. It just doesn't matter what anyone else does; they will wilt in comparison.

One of my top 5 films of all time.

Btw, django is great and impossible is an amazing story. Haven't seen this many movies on the big screen in years.

Top five is way to hard to choose, so all I can do is add Apocalypse Now..when that movie is playing I cant turn my head away.

For some reason, Lincoln doesn't interest me at all.

One of my neighbours saw it and said it was really good. She thought that Tommy Lee Jones performance stole the show. :noclue:

Is that reason that you're not American? I'm not particularly interested either.

Well, historical dramas aren't really my cup of tea. Also, the trailer looked boring to me. Great cast and all, but I will pass.

That's too mainstream. Get with the times, man! It's all about being into the presidents who were cool before it was cool before it becomes cool.
