I like the new track. It evokes memories of the Brian Eno/Berlin/Low period

If you're not familiar with it, I highly recommend Bowie's overlooked "Heathen" which remains one of his better albums of the last 20+ years:

yeah Heathen is a good album. But I mean Bowie doesn't really have any weak or embarrassing albums does he, the bar is pretty fuckin high on all of them. It's very impressive. Listening to the new song reminded me what a cool vibrato he's got too, it's so powerful and expressive

I guess it's all subjective, but I consider Tonight, Black Tie White Noise and Never Let Me Down to be pretty weak.

I read a book a few months ago, breaks down all Bowie's music in the 70's. Good read for Bowie nerds like myself.

I just checked out his discography and what he put out in the seventies, turns out he pretty much had a classic album out every year! that's evil

i did see that and it is astonishingly fantastic. eno and visconti and alomar are interviewed in depth about five amazing mini-eras in db's career. plus shorter but interesting and sometimes hysterical interviews with many other involved parties.

when the next day came out, i was amazed to find that the director of that first video was the husband of an old friend of mine. i called her up and said she must have been in on the big secret. she said she was actually 'in' the big secret. she's the woman whose face appears next to david's in the video. she told me at the time that she and her husband hang out with david a lot and that he did intend to do a some shows but probably not a tour. but that was a while ago and nothing has come of it. i'd go. i agree with those who said that heathen was very good but black tie and never let me go were sort of weak links. but the shows were always incredible. last one i saw was in a club in the bronx. first was at the garden on the 'stage' tour in 78. (wait. did i see the thin white duke tour? i honestly don't recall.) both were great along with many in between.

Bowie goes full tilt jazz. This is the new song "Sue" that I believe is going to be included on his upcoming revamped greatest hits box set "Sound and Vision:"

I just watched the first episode of the show that "Blackstar" is the theme for - The Last Panthers. I enjoyed the first episode and will definitely watch the next one.
The Last Panthers is a European crime drama television series created by Jack Thorne and directed by Johan Renck.[1] It is based on real events inspired by the notorious Balkan jewel thieves the Pink Panthers. The six-part series is set to premier on Canal+ on 26 October 2015 in France, on Sky Atlantic on 12 November 2015 in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Austria, and in the US in spring 2016 on SundanceTV.

I'm not the guy who gets affected by the passing of people i have never known. Bowies passing hurt. As his friend said, 'it's time to cry".

Live At The Philidelpia Tower is the best live album of all time.

He was the voice I was introduced to music with
