I was pleasantly surprised when I heard this cover of Heroes by the Hollywood Vampires(Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry)
Johnny Depp is a pretty good singer. :thumb:

Yeah, so I was bangin around drummers after the talk of the NS album and drums. I was looking for a more than pocket type who's grooves actually added to the music without distraction. Denny Davis came to mind as I thought he was superior to Sterling Campbell and equal to Omar Hakim (within Bowie), and after being hijacked by Ronson for a minute, came upon this album. I had never heard it, nor heard of it. I'm drooling....the Santa Monica Civic would have been insane place to see him. It's like they're still working the songs out or fucked up or both.... RAW

Your link didn't work, SR.

When I saw Kate Bush in 2014, Omar Hakim was the drummer for the 22 shows she did at the Hammersmith Apollo.

Here's a pic from the night I was the show. Omar is in the right of the frame, half cut off.
Photo quality is not good. I disobeyed the no photo rule and took a few pics quickly.

He’s amazing. He’s now the chair of the percussion dept at Berklee college of music

I’ll check on the link when I’m in front of my computer

The neighbourhood around Berklee is really cool. My favourite part of Boston.

Hey thanks for that...it's a set list of separate YouTube videos...prob why it didn't link right

"Hang on to yourself" doesn't get enough credit for it's role in punk rocks birth...ronsons lead(no clue if it's his or if he got it from some 50's rockabilly) has been used by like 12,000 punks bands by now...Ramones, X (and Jane's) included

Spot on....interesting creative arc for Ronson too. I am a real Slick/Alomar homer with Bowie, but I was farting around and read that Ronson pulled Jack and Diane off the floor with Mellencamp. According to JM, Ronson suggested baby rattles for the percussion behind Aronoff's solid beat....and the revival chorus with the hi hat sizzle and tom work. On the rattles, JM had a not too disguised wtf reaction, but went with it

Love it there too....on the fringes of the biz center of the city....tons of music and art there including their Met, which we walked to in the freezing cold only to find out it was the only day of the year they were closed...think it was New Years
