You didn't get the little tan booklet with the cd?
No, mine has a piece of paper which has the front cover, and the back of the bookelt, but inside is just white paper. :cona:
same here mate... i bought mine in '91 though, so maybe it was a later run and they scrimped on packaging. You in the UK? I am... maybe that's a reason - not sure. I keep thinking about grabbing a 2nd copy off ebay just to have the booklet but i've never been much of a completist / hoarder to be honest.

I have the white cover too. I bought it at a used cd shop. It's the amended cover..,

Because Perry co-"produced" his vox at home with his own engineer. I bet he was only in the Costey studio maybe once or twice.

well how many video/picture ops where there of Perry in the "studio"? That's how many times

Seriously, Dave put the most effort in from a hands on perspective. If I were him I would be a little ticked.

Dave hit on Casey too, Perry got over that. He's probably more threatened by Eric's stronger personality.

Yeah, I'm in the UK and bought it at Virgin Megastore (remember those?) after Strays came out

That'll explain it then... i bet they haven't featured the booklet for years. Like i say, they're on ebay all the time and proper cheap too... i'll pick one up one day!

I tell you, outside of London (and maybe a couple other big cities) record stores are extinct. I shouldn't complain as i get everything from either amazon or the record labels themselves, but i'm sure i only started doing that once the stores started to dry up. NYRexall will love this, but the golden days were looking through record store basements at new and 2nd hand vinyl... getting sub-pop 7" on import and stuff like that!

I know them from when I lived in the UK. Here in Canada though, Virgin didn't do very well. I think HMV ended up buying the Canadian stores. There was one in Toronto(not a megastore) that was opened in the mid 90s for a couple of years. It was situated among a few other big music stores like HMV, Sunrise Records, and Sam the Record Man.

I decided to make an appointment with my eye specialist. I still can't read that shit. Not in the morning, not in the evening, with or without glasses, drunk or not.

Yeah, there's no Virgin stores in the UK anymore. It's pretty much HMV or nothing, which is a huge shame, because independent stores used to be one of my favourite places to go :cona:

I hate downloading music and will always choose to own a physical copy. I loved going through my Dad's record collection...I don't want my kid to have to look at mp3 files on a hard drive. Not the same effect.
Cool, I feel the same way and have thought the same things.

I don't think this is an UK thing, maybe only early copies had the booklet. I bought the cassette when the album came out in the UK and got the booklet. When i got round to buying the cd later on it didn't have the booklet.

Perry loves Chris so much, he got to write nothing on this album.

I know it has been discussed that many feel the lyrics (and Perry) are the weak link, but I'm curious to read what these songs are about. Can you really not make out the lyrics in the CD insert?

Can't believe none of them thanked Trent Reznor.

Yeah probably or it would have gone against the "we don't need Eric or Trent to make a record" vibe.

1. Text seemed big enough to me, I read everything fine. It is small though, yes.
2. Dave thanked so many pornstars.
3. I think it's ridiculous that they listed their attorneys.
4. Perry thanked Yobel.
5. Hated how the insert art after you take out the disk has "www.janesaddiction.com"

Oh I can read it fine but I would rather pages and an actual booklet like I said. But oh well maybe the special edition one is better I'm sure I would like the live album.

I too would prefer actual pages to turn instead of rotating a single, large foldout. I love album booklets like Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness, One Hot Minute, and 10,000 Days that have individual pages with artwork on each one. Quality shit.
