What’s weirdest is that there are barely any non-Jane’s videos posted from Bearded Theory, at least so far.
This is pure speculation on my part as I have never been to it, but the festival is at a massive country estate - i.e.., it's kind of in the countryside. It's entirely possible that the mobile network isn't up to handling the volume of 10s of thousands of people. So if there isn't much video of any kind from the festival, it may just come down to bandwidth. It's a 3-day festival, so I imagine things may start to appear tonight or tomorrow when people go home. :noclue:

Ah, that makes sense.

I feel like the setlist is bullshit. They flat out play two new songs separate from the ones we’ve heard and no one has the wherewithal to post at least snippets?

Edit: someone on Reddit is saying the set isn’t accurate

You think? lol
My first clue is that there are 16 songs on that set list - it's even decades since they dreamed of putting in that much effort.
Nevermind the other flags....Three Days into Jane Says...in what universe does that happen. And the various other things that have been mentioned above.

So it’s Monday…and the setlist has now been modified. “Imminent Redemption” and “Then She Did…” now appear with “Slow Divers” removed. The alleged songs “Heaven Gong” and “Poppy” are still there. Still likely bullshit.

Man, whoever made this is sadly desperate for some kind of attention. Weird.

Here’s the comment from the Setlist website from whoever edited it:
more accurate than previous version. Not 100% sure the two new songs listed towards the end were played, although the other new Imminent Redemption certainly was

The Telegraph wrote a review of the show:

https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/ ... addiction/

Quoting the article: "(...) the crowd forming a swarming mass of mosh pits for early anthems such as the explosive Mountain Song and darkly funky Been Caught Stealing, as well as exciting new material (Poppy and Heaven Gong)".

I’m still in disbelief. This either actually happened or The Telegraph has a lazy writer who consulted setlist.fm

Well let’s see what tonight brings. Made it by skin of my teeth and had to sell a ticket but all good! Got KW on Thurs so don’t care what the setlist is tonight.

Place is heaving. Saw JAMC here last month and it was crap. Fingers crossed tonight better!

That Up the Beach sounded incredible. Perry sounds rough on Chip, but what a fucking song. Some of Perry’s best lyrics.

On this tree, among the blossoms, caustically I am the thorn.

I fucking love it.

I don't think Perry would ever name a song Poppy because that's Casey's daughters name
It's also the name of the girl who was opening the Pumpkins/Jane's tour.

I suppose it is possible that she had some sort of influence on him. Not necessarily that the song is about her, but maybe her name inspired a former heroin addict to write about what he already knows. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve asked a couple of random strangers on social media who were in attendance and it sounds like the band only played two new songs (True Love and Imminent Redemption).

Short set, just the 13 songs (kinda normal I guess) but they sounded incredible. Opened with Then She Did, played UTB halfway through. Dropped True Love but kept Imminent.

Diff from Bush Hall was Pigs, Jane Says and UTB. Pigs sounded fucking great and Perry was in way better form than last week.

Not there Weds as seeing another love (King Gizzard) but doing Manc on the weekend to round it all off. If they keep this going for an album and subsequent tour, they’ve every chance of going out on a real fucking high!

Had a Dad was on the set list (3rd slot) - Dan came out a few minutes before the start and changed it. That ended up being Pigs.

Chip Away was also on the set list (after Stop!), but was dropped.

Friend of mine went tonight and said Perry was “out of tune, out of time, forgetting his lines. The band carried him.”

He does seem to have lost his strength, especially compared to the Porno show at Lolla last summer.

I haven’t tried to get live shows on a regularly basis — I used to use Dime, but maintaining an account and even signing up is impossible

Anyone know how and where to get shows ?

I'm certainly not arguing the point here; I just don't know what expectations people have of him. He's been a cartoon mess for years.

There has long been collective acknowledgment that Perry is a shadow of his former self, in general....and he's fairly widely variable across any run of shows. With said, this is what we have. He's a 65 year old geezer who has spent his adult life doing what the fuck he wants in terms of booze and substances. He's old and fried. I am not sure there is much more to expect than to have them carry him - it's why EA is all the more pivotal.

A lot of singers younger than him use prompts for lyrics. And this is just the third show, etc. etc. I have shoveled a lot of shit Perry's way over the years, but this is just the deal at this point in time. (I'm pretty sure I am not as with it as I was 35 years ago either....)

FWIW - I thought the were fucking fantastic. Were there issues? Sure - when have Jane's Addiction ever been anywhere close to perfect.

I haven't listened to this in full yet, but the audio may be a little pitchy given where I was standing.

Imminent Redemption, Up the Beach, Ocean Size.
