I don't know how I feel about P4P playing live. I'd obviously go if they played in NY. Perry's voice is more suited for this at his age, but aesthetically I don't want to see Hollywood Perry performing these songs with his wife on stage. At least she was a relapse dancer and had a slight connection as a performer with them when they reconvened from 2001 and on. She has no affiliation with P4P. I saw them about 8 or 9 times and every show was magic to me. The vibe around them was out of control. After watching Jane's become old and cheesy, I'd like to hold on to my roseland, Irving plaza, and enit memories.

generally i can't stand it when forum posts generalize with comments like 'anyone who would [so and so] is an idiot'. because taste is taste. but i'll break my own rule here. personally, as i've said before, i think that on the tgea tour, the vibe that perry was putting out with his performance and the staging was well suited for a p4p reunion. but taste is taste and of the 30 or so people who still give a fuck about jane's, some obviously are completely over perry farrell, for reasons they've articulated here.
having said that, anyone who would miss a p4p club show [a short set on lolla or a money grub opening slot on some other band's big stage tour in empty venues does not apply], thus missing the opportunity to see pete, perk and watt play those incredible songs for the first time in 16 years, is a fucking moron and needs to retire from this forum and find something to comment on that they don't hate. it just ain't healthy. i'm not saying that one has to love it or look forward to it as though it was 1989 ja coming to play a private show in your backyard, but fuck, man, if you're here and don't want to see that, what the fuck??? really. what the fuck????

This conveniently leaves out the reason most people would avoid the show, which is Perry. He's the wildcard, and more often than not these days he tends to disappoint. I think more people would be inclined to see P4P play instrumentally without Perry than with.

I'm ambivalent about a P4P reunion. Personally, I never had anywhere near the same level of interest I (used to have) with Janes and while yeah, hearing some of the old stuff once again after nearly 2 decades would be cool, it's still likely gonna be bleeding another corpse dry. On one hand, I'd be more interested in seeing them live if there's a healthy dose of new material just for the surprise factor but on the other hand, we're talking 21st Century Perry quality here so maybe lounge singer Perry crooning the old mellow stoner tunes from the same setlist every show is the better option.
