So much for the hiatus
That didn't last long - looks like they are slated to perform Nothing's Shocking May 8-10 at the new Brooklyn Bowl Las Vegas venue, according to Billboard - http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/ ... -phil-lesh

Re: So much for the hiatus
i guess that's pretty cool that they are changing up things a bit even though they pretty much play most of the songs anyway.
ritual would have been better.

Re: So much for the hiatus
they're probably 1,5 step down by then Dave's low E string will hit the ground occasionally probably

Re: So much for the hiatus
I agree Ritual would've been much more interesting, but this is definitely a good first step.. if they have to keep playing shows.. at least force a couple deep cuts in the set.
Re: So much for the hiatus
I wonder if that'll be it for the set. How long is NS? 40 minutes? Probably NS then BCS and Stop. A little banter and that's an hour set. I think the guy has it wrong in the article about the bands drawing people to Las Vegas. If it were xxx the first night, NS the 2nd night and RDLH the 3rd night I'd totally travel for that.

but that would require rehearsing.blackula wrote:I wonder if that'll be it for the set. How long is NS? 40 minutes? Probably NS then BCS and Stop. A little banter and that's an hour set. NS comprises the majority of their set lists as it is. Idiots is really the only song that doesn't get much airing live. As stated before, they will most likely do BCS and Stop or whatever to cap off the night.
Basically, this is the same set as always, but now in album sequence.

standing in the shower....thinking? that may have it beat unless you count thank you boys.Noonesshocking wrote: Idiots is really the only song that doesn't get much airing live.

Re: So much for the hiatus
Pigs and idiots got stage time this past summer. I know shower has popped up a few times over the years. Last time we heard thank you boys was NINJA I suppose. I guess I'm just thinking when you average it out, the entire album compromises the majority of their sets. An extra song or two we don't typically see doesn't make it all that special.creep wrote:standing in the shower....thinking? that may have it beat unless you count thank you boys.Noonesshocking wrote: Idiots is really the only song that doesn't get much airing live.

That said, if they want to do it properly and play it in standard tuning, that would be something I can get on board with. And obviously, this would be 100% cooler with EA. But we don't need to flog that dead horse any further.

Re: So much for the hiatus
they played shower once in 2012, three times in 2009, and once in 2008.
idiots once in 2011 and once in 2009.
thank you boys once in 2012 and once in 2009.
and they played pigs three times in 2012.
i guess idiots wins as the least played song recently. idiots and shower are my least favorite songs on ns though so i'm ok with not playing them.

Re: So much for the hiatus
Well yeah, with Dave's new cover band and Perry's new immersive project, rehearsals aren't too realistic.creep wrote:but that would require rehearsing.blackula wrote:I wonder if that'll be it for the set. If no EA and no xxx, NS and RDLH back to back album nights, a fan made set list through a JA website would be the only decent thing they could do at this point.
Re: So much for the hiatus
Sweet. I've never been to Vegas. At least it's a different set. I think I'll go.

Fuck, that GnR clip was terrible.

I'm just disturbed they opened a BROOKLYN bowl in Lost Vegas.
I'm glad they never went through with opening CBGB's there.
What's next? L'amours? Coney Island High? Danceteria?

Well the Brooklyn Bowl guy at least had his roots. He opened Wetlands. I'm sure a CBGB will eventually hit Vegas too. I walked by the Varvatos store which now occupys CBGB the other day. Gross. And a Surfboard shop next door too. I lived in Park Slope for 10 years before it became a Yoga Mom, Over Priced shitty restaurant scene. NYC used to be so cool.
Re: So much for the hiatus
Yeah it's great that they are finally paying tribute to their past instead of playing all those new songs all the time.bman wrote:Sweet. I've never been to Vegas. At least it's a different set. I think I'll go.
