Yes, he comes across pretty normal - very likeable.

Pretty much...I think the fact that the first time they were there was so memorable for them it killed the schtick...so much better to not put on airs...

I don't think Perry wants to play arena shows just because the sound is better than in clubs, I think it's because he wants to be a huge Rock Star that's big enough to play in large venues.

Well yeah, he basically said that.
I sensed that he thought he'd seem like a dick for saying it, so he sought to "clarify" by adding the bit about bad sound. But, yeah, clearly that's what he meant.

He was all like "i am Perry Farrell, i shouldn't have the play this shitty venue anymore", and then tried to make jokes about it. But it was kind of a snobby comment from someone who hasn't written a hit in a decade.
