What an odd line up. I cant believe how quickly Soundgarden's reunion was relegated to the nostalgia circuit.

How were they supposed to get new fans? Aren't all of these bands basically doing that? FNM, etc?

I don't know if Extreme is still decent, but on a whim I caught them about 6 years ago with Kings X at the LA House Of Blues and they were surprisingly good for a so-called "hair metal band."

I don't think that's how this works.
When someone comes to you with a suitcase full of money to play a music festival, you don't say "OK, but only if a bunch of people our age are on the bill"

Soundgarden is total nostalgia. Their last big headlining gig was a summer tour with Nine Inch Nails and now they're playing festivals......sound familiar?

It does sound familiar.
It sounds like that last 20 years worth of music festivals I have attended.

I wish it could just be a FNM, Soundgarden, and Janes summer tour.
