Given how washed up the band is at this point, with good performances being sporadic and no Eric Avery, I couldn't care less what they play on any given night.

That was one of the ballsier things they did during the '97 Relapse tour, they only played BCS like the first 1 or 2 shows of the tour then dropped it for the remainder.

i was looking for a recording on dime of then she did (or tds) and read this description of the virginia show. didn't anyone tape this song? i want to hear it.
This venue has a capacity of 25,000 and the show was tragically undersold. Several weeks after tickets went on sale I scooped a single lawn ticket for $15 after fees. The day of the show, having sold less than 20% of their capacity, the venue decided to close the lawn and instead give all of the lawn patrons tickets to sit in the pavilion (the pavilion has a 10,000 person capacity). It was a nice gesture which everyone seemed to really enjoy, but I ended up moving from the less than ideal far-house-left seat they gave me to a dead-center spot in the only row directly behind FOH. Luckily no one ever came to challenge my seat assignment, so I rolled tape from that spot for the entire night.

Chaney looks like he's playing a wedding reception or something, the guy's unable to rock out on any level

Chaney was becoming a presence by the end of '03. Last show I saw them at (one of the last few before the break-up) on that tour he was shirtless, bass turned way up in the mix and was thundering away all night. I was extremely impressed.

After they brought him back in the fold he's been a fill-in and not a band member. and has acted like one.

I can only assume this has something to do with Perry. I wouldnt be surprised if he declared Jane's a bass player-less band and Chaney is only to play his notes and not be noticed.

I don't care what deep cut they toss in, at this point the band is running on fumes.
Holy shit, this guy was hilarious. And with the Jersey accent. I want to pay him to talk over all live Jane's videos on the Internet.

Agreed. Probably my favorite Jane's song. It still can hit me in the gut.

i wouldn't book BOC for my kid's bar mitzvah unless they contracted to play cities on flame with rock and roll.
just sayin.
CaseyContrarian wrote:No BCS is indeed weird. Fast-fading "legacy" bands are often contractually obligated by the promoter to play their most recognizable songs.

For example, Blue Oyster Cult, when rocking the Morning Zoo-sponsored weenie roast, is guaranteed to perform "Don't Fear the Reaper," "Godzilla" and "Burnin' for You."

Maybe Jane's aren't quite there yet. Bully for them!

I'm with you. I'd mandate "ME262" and "Flaming Telepaths."

Probably the only BOC song I really like is "Shooting Shark."
