I never thought it would get this far. I give Perry credit...he found someone to invest in this silliness. There is no way this is successful is there? I've read a lot about this an I still have no idea what it really is. I do hope this actually opens. I would love to read the reviews.

If the cost for this isn't that outrageous, I'm in

I just got to remember not to forget to wear something yellow :thumb:

Haha...I forgot about the yellow shirts.

Agree with creep and others that Perry does deserve props for actually getting Kind Heaven going.

Yeah, from 2001, I think.
I didn't go to that Vegas show but I recall the long-running yellow shirt jokes. I also recall reading some funny stories about people who met up from the old boards- Xiola and 1%.

It was for the 2002 Vegas show. A girl (I forget her name. Sorry if you still lurk) suggested that we all wear something yellow so we can find each other at the show. I don't even think I met her at that Vegas Jane's show, but I did end up talking with her briefly at a Banyan show a year or two later. I did meet Bishop (whatever happened to him?) Angry Canine (rip?) and jalittlehelper. I also got to spend the night in the same room with Jax/Jackie at the 2002 Vegas show.

Meeting a bunch of people from 1% for the 2001 show was cool. I don't recall if I ever told him, but Mancunian (I might have spelled that wrong) who later started posting as dood (whatever happened to him?) saved me from missing the show. I had worked 16 hours the day before and was tired as hell, but because the show was so soon after 9/11 everyone on the Bay Area news was saying you needed to arrive at the airports like 8 hours early because the lines were so long. So I got to the Oakland airport at like 11 in the AM for a flight that wasn't supposed to leave until 7 that evening. So I spent all damn day in the Oakland airport. Well, my flight was coming from Seattle and ended up being delayed due to weather so what was supposed to be a flight from Oakland to Las Vegas, ended up being a flight that left around midnight from Oakland to LA and then waiting in LA for my flight to Vegas. Seeing a ton National Guard troops walking around the LA airport with AK-47's was a trip. Anyways, I was supposed to get into Vegas a little after 8 PM, but ended up getting there a little after 3 in the AM the day of the show. So I was super tired the entire day and like an hour before leaving the Luxor to head to the Hard Rock I turned the AC on in my room and sat down on my bed and almost immediately passed out :lolol:

Thankfully dood called my room asking when I was going to leave (which I had no idea he was even going to do) because if he hadn't called and woke me up I would've easily slept through the show :hehe:

The attraction will also feature five music venues/stages, featuring Southeast Asian bands performing in the U.S. for the first time; Farrell’s Jane’s Addictions and Porno for Pyros will also perform, and other big bands will be announced later — some will be real, while others will be holographic.
This is going to quickly go from Jane's Addiction headlining opening night, to a massive dropoff in attendance after people see the insanely bad hologram bands "playing" Perry's terrible techno music 24/7 (Probably where those "6 albums worth of songs" went to), straight to a desperate attempt to get people back by employing the same cover bands doing 70s and 80s hits that play every other lounge in Vegas.

And in 2021 the space will be taken over by someone else or the space will be rebranded entirely when his partners buy out his stake for a fraction of the money he put into it.

At least C3 didn't let him fuck up Lollapalooza with this nonsense.

We've gotten access to some exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of some of the holograms that will amaze the world from 2019 onwards.

I'm guessing that a 100 million probably get them a little farther than that

This is the guy behind the "futuristic" stuff: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cary_Granat
From 2010 to 2014, Granat was a Partner at Reel FX/Granat Ent. The artist-driven production and development company, Granat Entertainment, merged with animation studio Reel FX in order to create a new live-action/animation studio.[19][20] The company forged partnerships with Andrew Adamson, Guillermo Del Toro, James Cameron, Cirque du Soleil, Fox Film, Steve Aioki and others while producing Free Birds, The Book of Life, World Away, The Hive, and other projects.[21]

In 2012, Granat co-founded and launched Immersive Artistry, an innovative Location Based Entertainment business that combines cutting edge technologies with enveloping mythologies that allow you to explore worlds such as Ocean Exploration, The North Pole, and Kind Heaven.[22] The company is a participatory experience considered the newest evolution in media placing you inside the movie, rather than watching it. The company will be launching its first locations in Las Vegas, China, and throughout the world in 2017. Granat serves as the company CEO.
 It seems like it's just a movie about Southeast Asia for some reason, and Perry is doing music for it? Or wrote a story for it? Or something? I'm not sure why anyone would want to be immersed in that.

It's something to entertain tourists from all around the world while they're on vacation. Ed Jones is the other dude involved he's a pretty big deal in the visual effects industry. The plot of the movie probably won't matter its just an avenue to show off all this so called unique revolutionary technology for a theme park walk. Good location, right in the center of the strip. Perry might make a fortune on this thing.

I think I would rather see some comedy act or Penn & Teller, and then go *eat* southeast Asian food, if I were in Las Vegas. Also I could listen to Jane's Addiction on my phone the whole time.

Is that the same dood whose daughter was a difficult birth? Meaning doctors gave her 50-50% chance to live, but she turned out (very) fine?

He has at least a couple of young children...though I think his daughter is approaching hs age. He's a west coaster who's landed in the northeast now, wrapped in work and family. Good man.

Also what in the actual fuck

https://www.forbes.com/sites/stevebalti ... 707f3a3503
Baltin: Who would be the dream hologram for you to sing with?

Farrell: Off the top of my head it would be amazing to sing with a David Bowie, Freddie Mercury, Jim Morrison, I could probably sing with anybody. Really, I would be very accommodating in the harmonizing, would be such a treat. But when I talked to you about the holograms I didn’t mean performance, I meant acting, like scenes. I don’t know if I’ll get to do this but it would be killer to have a holographic porn of myself. I haven’t pitched that one to them yet.

Baltin: What would the holographic porno you be doing?

Farrell: Having delightful sex, revving up the audience, they can be at the bar looking up at a second-story window into my apartment and they would see, “Whoa, what’s going on over there?”

I hate this idea so much, but I'm seriously considering going to Las Vegas in 2019, because it's a cheap flight and I kind of want to see the Grand Canyon.

Yes, there's always cheap air+hotel deals for 3-4 night stays.

For my 40th b-day, I went to Vegas and did one of those Grand Canyon tours in a small plane, 6-8 passengers. Even though it was VERY turbulent on the way out, was totally worth it. I seriously thought I was going to die.
