Great video from right up front of the first half of the set. Although Troy is a little rough on Kettle Whistle, I actually like this version better'n the Jubilee tour version (although the visual presentation was killer in 2001). Probably the first time I've gotten chills hearing Janes live since the LA club shows in 2009.

the crowd wasn't really in to his jeffery dahmer talk or jane's at all it seems.

like esqfool said...kettle whistle is great to hear but up the beach still needs to open.

And Dave hates us for playing a role in Panic Channel being poorly accepted by the Jane's community. We've always called it like it is. Only Pete ever respected that.
That's not what Dave hated.

He hated that he put in the time, money, and effort to set up a fan community just to have you guys show up and be like "Fuck you. You suck. Perry rules!" and he thought that if you felt that Perry was so much better then you should just hang out in the fan community that Perry set up. Except Perry never did that for you.

That's what he hated. That his kindness towards the fans was the very method you used to shit on him while Perry did fuckall for you.

And if you don't believe that, then I am happy to post the sound clip from Camp Freddy Radio where he said exactly that.

You don't just get to make things up years later, Hoka. Some of us have receipts.
Are you talking about the small contingent of people that posted on his message board? Was that even a thing? I'm not sure I even remember.

If so, cry me a fucking river. I never went to that site or gave two shits about your RIDICULOUS panic circles. Facts were, that band was absolute balls and you fucks didn't want to hear any of it. So any dissenters got blacklisted because everyone in that band except Eric has the most fragile of egos. And God forbid anyone tell them their farts stink.

That's what Dave Navarro didn't like. That we thought that Panic Channel was a cynical attempt to capture the mainstream rock crowd because he was no longer satisfied being in an "art band." And we rightfully and factually spoke to it being a load of shit.

So post whatever sound clips you like. If he wanted to play victim because people said his band sucked (it did) on his special site then that wasn't me, and he'd rather finger point than accept reality.

Why don't you go paint some logos and light some candles and say a prayer to skycycle steve?

I'm not really worried what it sounds like. Facts are facts and that's all I can speak to. If you interpret this conversation that way then :noclue:

That's on you.

Man that Dahmer talk just kept digging Perry a hole. Maybe this is a cue for Obvious tomorrow in St. Louis since he's always digging something up  . Hoka and I will be in attendance and I think Dr. Wintercreeper? Maybe some others. Should be an alright time I guess.

Cool, I bought tickets like an old man, front row of the upper deck so I can see in peace. Ticket sales seem pretty weak but I don't give a shit. Where are you driving in from?

Greater KC area. I saw SP in KC in 2019 and ticket sales were weak; I got floor seats last minute for pretty cheap. This time, I am not sure where I will end up but leaning towards floor. One thing about Corgan (and this is their tour)…. Mofo always plays bigger places than they can sell out. Incredible ego he has… but it ends up meaning decent tix should still be available day of.

Smart. I wish I would've waited. But that $80 4 pack was too good to turn down.

Could have been me and paid face value, so I think it came up to $98 a ticket. :balls:

Kettle whistle sounds really great. Troy sounds great. Cool!

And like Diabolik said: unbelievable that Flea played another baseline on this song. So much more haunting when Eric plays it.

Perry seems to have wisely left out the N-word in Whores in favour of what sounded like "triggers". :noclue:

So I guess we’ll see if the band can sustain the remainder of the tour.

I’m glad I sold my tickets for Toronto. However, had it been the full original lineup cancelling, I would’ve been fucking pissed. I can live without seeing Jane’s of the Stone Age.
I enjoyed the Pumpkins' set a lot more than I expected to. They've put a lot of money and effort into the set and a sort of Brechtian thing with a giant screen + series of those curtain-LED-screen things you can see through, behind the shoegazers that created a pretty cool very different vibe for each song. If it had been an amphitheatre, I probably wouldn't have gone. But I had awesome seats (100 level, centre stage, just behind the floor.

The funniest part was Billy singing perfectly in sync with the music video for that new song, with a giant version of himself also singing it in the video. Very odd effect, but made that song more tolerable.
Hype, I saw the SP reunion tour at the ACC in 2018 when they only played material from the first five albums (1991-2000). It was absolutely amazing! Elaborate set design with super cool video presentation. They’ll never top that for me; especially now because Billy is making the audience endure the new crap in between the classics.
If I'm being honest, I didn't mind whatever "new" songs they played. I didn't really notice, except for the single. I have zero (I like puns) expectations for any of these nostalgia acts anymore, though.

You're right. Although I swear he sang the original lyric in videos from earlier in the tour because I was curious if he'd stick with it. But I could easily be wrong.

I hope when Dave comes back, they do it like the ‘87 version with more prominent guitar and percussion. But that rendition with Troy was still really cool!

This is SO different than 2009. Eric and Perry seem genuinely collegial, they’re both there for the music and appreciate it. Looks good and sounds good.

The Perry and Eric interactions are amazing.

When I saw them in 09 — didn’t see a rift ( I saw the LI NY show )

But reading about it was disappointing.

This though, is genuinely heart warming. It’s crazy to see it.

What timeline is this.

I’m a crazy person when it comes to this band —but this has me so excited. Like what if the new music, album, ep is good.

What if it’s great? Phenomenal even.

I can’t get enough of this stuff
