Irving plaza was the best for I lived on 12th b/t 1st & A. It's been 13 yrs since I moved to jersey. Tramps, wetlands, and bottom line I think that was what it was called. All gone. Irving is now the Fillmore right.

Yeah I HATE the fact that for all those years I had to schlep to Manhattan when I lived in Brooklyn and now the venues I worked in are gone and places are popping up in an area like Williamsburg...and all because why? THE RENT...IS TOO DAMN HIGH...

I LOVED Wetlands and Tramps...some of the best shows I ever went to were at those spots...

Irving plaza changed it's name to The Filmore at Irving Plaza for a very short time in 08-09 but NO ONE ever called it "the Filmore" so it now is back to just Irving Plaza

Williamsburg is a hot bed of music spaces now the issue with that is it's SO hard to get to. One subway line. It sucks

Irving Plaza used to be my favorite venue but then they blocked off it's upstairs area where you used to be able to stand on the balcony and get a bird's eye view. I think they closed it off to make it a VIP drinks area. Bullshit.

Now my favorite venue is actually the Williamsburg Hall of Music. It's like what Irving used to be, but better. They have the entire upstairs with a lounge area and bleachers so you can see everything. Plus if you get there early, you can get a table that overlooks the stage without even buying anything. I love it (even if it's a bit harder to get to and I hate Williamsburg).

wait, you can't stand on the left side balcony anymore? The right side was always VIP and I always liked the back bar area.
Last show I saw at Irving Plaza had to be in 2010. All the shows I've been to since then have been either at Bowery Ballroom, Terminal 5 or Best Buy.

The recent theater JA tour felt a lot like the GGU tour to me. and i do think they were in a sweet spot for them in terms of the visuals, the theatrics, the trippiness, etc., that was a big part of p4p. all the gripes about perry and all the posts reminding us that he's a different guy than he was in 1990 are duly noted. but i thought it was a fairly objective view that he was in a good performance place this year. if you dont want to see the same songs or feel that its passed its time or youve passed your time with it, that is certainly valid. but if you still get a charge out of perry as one of the best front men of his time, it was hard not to find something to like here, compared with most of the recent tours. so, as for p4p, the thought of seeing that band, which was so great at its best, play ten or more memorable songs that i have not heard played live in 15 years is a happy one. some new ones, some covers, my time, pete's dad....all in a club or small theater with some clowns and dancers....how could that be bad? i have no idea if theres anything to pete's statement that it could happen and i'm certainly not holding my breath, but i would be very happy to go to that show.
