Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
dave isn't involved in any jane's songs so i'm sure they are just rough ideas he has come up with. we all know most likely nothing will come from any of this.
Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
My thoughts exactly. We're supposed to believe that someone who has dicked around for decades (while needing the assistance of others) and whose work has been sporadic (both in being released in a timely fashion as well as the quality) is suddenly becoming a prolific artist with a gold rush of great material?creep wrote:dave isn't involved in any jane's songs so i'm sure they are just rough ideas he has come up with. we all know most likely nothing will come from any of this.

If I am to judge by PF's sparse musical offerings, I have to say that most of the songs have been stilborn.

Perry's going to in for an unpleasant shock when Janes does their Summer shed tour. Most of the shows are selling VERY poorly.

Newsflash: Janes is doing a 22 date co-headlining "Rockstar Energy" sponsored shed tour with Alice In Chains (who I believe are headlining) in NA later this Summer. Tickets have been on sale for weeks now.Larry B. wrote:Shows?

wow sounds like we will have the whole lawn to ourselves!! plus less jibber jabber to mess up my bootleg!!!
Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
Why cant's the members of JA get into a garage and write songs TOGETHER! Unreal. I'm have three shows this summer! I wish it was Pumpkins and Janes, my two favorite bands from the 90s. Does AIC have any fans? I guess not either.
Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
here is the seat map of available seats in san francisco where jane's typically sells well. behind the seats there is a lawn area too.

That's a really great idea.
It could do a contest where 8 fans are chosen to spend the weekend with JA for an intensive song writing session.

Well as long as the lower bowl is filled I guess! I'm sure two tickets for $20 offers will be on sale soon. It should have been Pumpkins or Depeche Mode or The Cure, or New Order.
Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
Wow...just looked at the Toronto show's seat map and it has sold REALLY poor. Toronto is normally a huge market for Jane's.
It appears Perry is aware of this tour's lack of sales...and in a desperate attempt to attract fans, is considering MAYBE changing up the set list and adding some rarities. Check out his Twitter page:

Wow, such sad state of affairs.
Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
How do you go from potentially recording an album with the original lineup of Jane's (with a near future Oscar/Golden Globe winning composer at the helm) to playing empty sheds with fake Alice In Chains in less than 5 years?!
Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
And you can be really close to the stage to offer your services as producer/remixer! You better take your take your chances if you get'em, like a fucking prostitute.trevor ayer wrote:wow sounds like we will have the whole lawn to ourselves!! plus less jibber jabber to mess up my bootleg!!!
Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
That rest of the lineup for that tour isn't all that great, imo. Also, I can't stand the venue. Leaving that place is always a nightmare, so poorly designed.Tyler Durden wrote:Wow...just looked at the Toronto show's seat map and it has sold REALLY poor. Toronto is normally a huge market for Jane's.
If it was on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday night I would consider going. It's not worth it to me to be tired at work on Wednesday.
I think Sound Academy or the Kool Haus would be better for them.
Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
I agree, the Amphitheatre sucks. I'm not a fan of the Sound Academy either, though...it's like staring down a narrow hallway. Though it's not stopping me from going to see Danzig there next month. Kool Haus is the opposite; too wide. I like Massey Hall...I like to sit; I'm old :PArtemis wrote:That rest of the lineup for that tour isn't all that great, imo. Also, I can't stand the venue. Some months back a friend and I went to see a show at the Sound Academy and discovered a side bar with a little seating area. When you get into the main area, walk forward toward the stage and turn left when you see the side bar. There are some washrooms there that not many people use, and also a comfy seating area with sofas and big tv screen to watch the show from. A lot of people tend to miss that area. They tend to walk, glance toward the bar, but miss the sofa area. SoundAcademy is nice in the summer though. There's the giant patio right on the lake, great views of the city skyline. Also, the awesome TNT Supermarket is close by. You can get some good, cheap eats there.Tyler Durden wrote:I agree, the Amphitheatre sucks. Are you going to NIN? I'm thinking about trying to score a decent priced ticket via Stub Hub, the day of the show.Artemis wrote:Some months back a friend and I went to see a show at the Sound Academy and discovered a side bar with a little seating area. Maybe. I will decide closer to that date.Tyler Durden wrote:

Re: Perry's latest Facebook status update
Why is Perry writing more Jane's material when he already has 4 albums worth completed?
Man, I can't wait to hear this 5 disc album he has planned.

Also, did anyone catch the picture he posted on twitter where he said he was writing his memoirs? (it was apparently 2 months ago)

The first time I jammed with Eric, he couldn't even play the bass guitar. I think it's because he didn't have his foreskin like I did. Anyway, I started humming what would become "mountain song" for ten minutes straight. Eric couldn't decide whether I was crazy or a genius. He wisely decided the latter and suddenly he could play it on his bass. To this day, he has never thanked me for giving him the ability to play the bass guitar.
