NME Perry Interview - *UPDATE* Jane's out for Reading
Re: New NME Perry Interview
Didn't this exact same thing happen with the original Jane's back in the day?
Re: New NME Perry Interview
Funny that the band is suddenly allowing backing vocal tracks and Perry somehow can't perform because of his voice.
Karma.
You rely on the tape, and suddenly the tape is all you are.

Was he bathing his vocal chords in alcohol with the lovely Mrs. until the wee morning hours? i want to know if we should blame her or not.
Re: Reading
i read perry lost his voice. wonder why they didn't just go on without perry?
Re: New NME Perry Interview
Perry looks as though he has lost a lot of weight based on the picture Etty posted (from the article that Artemis posted):

he was trying to console etty about the closure of nobu. as a consequence of all that talking, pf lost his voice.Six7Six7 wrote:what was PF doing last night?feathers mcgraw wrote:Yeah, on twitter, etty is calling it 'the curse of reading' or somethinghokahey wrote:Didn't this exact same thing happen with the original Jane's back in the day?

The whole set was great but Abel is just a belter of a song... and pretty much made for a festival crowd.hokahey wrote:Japhy wrote: Gave me a chance to watch The National on red button though... what a great band.

Damn weird about Janes revisiting 1990 again though. They played a club show in Camden back then too, but i can't remember if it was a couple of days before Reading or a couple after.

Re: Reading
It would've been a great show if Dave/Perk/bassist jammed covers n' shit, and maybe call on JA-friendly singers from bands also playing the festival to come on stage and guest-sing a Jane's song or two here and there. Perry could shake maracas or something, so he wouldn't feel totally left out. I know they never would, but it's a cool thought.

i bet he was walking around out in the cold wet night looking for suitable food for his little princess.Artemis wrote:he was trying to console etty about the closure of nobu. as a consequence of all that talking, pf lost his voice.Six7Six7 wrote:what was PF doing last night?feathers mcgraw wrote:Yeah, on twitter, etty is calling it 'the curse of reading' or somethinghokahey wrote:Didn't this exact same thing happen with the original Jane's back in the day?

that's what i thought. it probably would of meant a lot to the people that went to see them.intertwoven wrote:It would've been a great show if Dave/Perk/bassist jammed covers n' shit, and maybe call on JA-friendly singers from bands also playing the festival to come on stage and guest-sing a Jane's song or two here and there. Abel reminds me a lot of a Pixies song. So good.
Perry needs a fucking haircut already. I mean christ. Dude would look fantastic with a buzz.
Re: Reading

it would be less disappointing than the band not going on at all, imo.
i have been to 2 Pogues shows where Shane McGowan was "ill" and the band carried on without him.
Re: New NME Perry Interview
Merged the two topics both discussing this.
Re: Reading
Yeah, totally this. Like interwoven also said, bang out some instrumentals and stuff... would have done the band no harm.creep wrote:i read perry lost his voice. wonder why they didn't just go on without perry?
They've missed out on a shit load of coverage here in the UK though as even if they play Leeds tomorrow, the Leeds part of Reading / Leeds isn't televised. Just a tough break i guess.
Re: New NME Perry Interview
Dave knows the lyrics. and has fronted a band before.
He should have just done it.
Although it would have sounded weird during Irresistible Farce when he suddenly was singing like Perry

Yes, he would, but he still has good thick hair and should show it off while he still can.hokahey wrote:
