Another Soulmate - the remixes
I got all inspired by Trevor's remixes and that Dolly Parton song that was posted here recently and made some improvements to Jane's latest single.
We all know how "Another Soulmate" is very reminiscent of the Beatles and the Minutemen because it's under 3 minutes, right? Well, I went about making the song even more like them.

Then I made it even more like the Beatles and Minutemen.

Then I wanted to explore the song from a darker perspective.

Finally, delve into the sonic array with this remix that really lets the song breathe. The results, as I'm sure you will agree, are spellbinding.

Re: Another Soulmate - the remixes
I like the goth mix best. It's actually an improvement to the original.
Re: Another Soulmate - the remixes
Goth mix music is better but not feeling the vocals
Re: Another Soulmate - the remixes
goth mix is pretty cool, but not feeling the vocals either. what tools, synths, drums sampler etc did you use on that?

Re: Another Soulmate - the remixes
on all of these, I did absolutely nothing except adjust the speed. (sorry for the misleading original post)Matz wrote:goth mix is pretty cool, but not feeling the vocals either. what tools, synths, drums sampler etc did you use on that?

Re: Another Soulmate - the remixes
My remix would be an ambient remix. 2:30 seconds of silence. Way better than the original imo
Re: Another Soulmate - the remixes
Goth remix could be the title music for a film, or at least a trailer.

Yeah, otherwise they might end up being shitty, wouldn't they? People might mock you a bit and call you stupid for making the shittiest, stupidest remixes of all time, right?trevor ayer wrote: I almost tried to fuck with this but the poor quality mp3 discouraged me to not bother till i could get a better source ..

the word you're looking for is "spellbinding."creep wrote:i'm liking the last one. it's pretty interesting.
Re: Another Soulmate - the remixes
A little didgeridoo mixed in would make it even more spellbinding.

It fits with the Girl with A Dragon TattooLarry B. wrote:Goth remix could be the title music for a film, or at least a trailer.
Re: Another Soulmate - the remixes
I'm digging the Chipmunk version so much
Re: Another Soulmate - the remixes
The chipmunk version helps the vocals because it shifts Perry's pitch up higher, closer to where it used to be, with less screechy off-key old-man wheezing.
If someone took any of his newer stuff and cut out the screechier bits, then pitch-corrected it to something close to his pitch from 20 years ago, the shitty lyrics might be overlookable (cf. Porno For Pyros).
