and the sad thing is that i'm really, really struggling to even care. I went to the last show here with dannyboy and, even though it was a decent show, I was happier at catching up with him than the gig itself.

That said, if it's a Nothings Shocking show, i probably will care.

I could put all the shiny suits and Perry dancing like Don Knotts aside if he could sing half as well as he used to...

I read an article with Courtney Love. At a certain point they talk about the other members in Nirvana, with which she doesn't get along. And that it kinda bugs her, but then she said she had a talk with Dave Navarro, who said he didn't get along with the members in his band also

awww thanks Japhy. It was really cool hanging out with you again too! I remember i was fretting about my impending fatherhood. Now I'm a veteran!

I'm excited about this, the last few days id been thinking it would be cool if janes played here again soon.

I wont go to the Manchester show aswell though. my travelling fanboy days are over (not really, if they play a weekend gig in Europe i will look at going)
The last 2 janes gigs in manchester were magic though. For some reason, they absolutely smash then she did whenever they play there!

Must be why Dave travels with a dozen body mod people now. So he's not bored on the road.

Life on the Road with Janes. Perry and Etty go shopping and eat at high end restaurants. Dave watches movies, get tattooed and hangs from hooks. Chaney does Yoga. Perkins smokes weed! They meet at the gig for a quick pre show jam.

Happy thoughts please!

They aren't flying oversea for 2 shows unless the paychecks are decent.

and Jane'$ would never cancel a well-paying gig.

It'd be hilarious if Etty came back with most obnoxiously fake English accent. I'd have to kick her in the nuts for doing that.

those venues aren't very big, so I don't think the pay is huge. I wonder why they bother, it's not because they love to play, we know that

There's probably a festival show in the UK around then too.

Yeah, i'm assuming they're gonna get added to the Reading line-up? It's either that or V and they're deffo not a V festival band. Probably having another go at Reading given they cancelled it the last second last time.

I honestly need to find out if this is a NS show though... that really will make all the difference.

Anyway, i just got home from a fucking brilliant show near my house (Pulled Apart By Horses / The Wytches) - need to hit the hay.

I'm in Spain on holiday with the family at the end of August, great.

Saying that, would I go up to Manchester mid-week? Probably not...

OK, it is a Nothing's Shocking show... but tickets are just shy of £50 with fees. I won't be going.

I'm surprised by the size of the venues, to be honest. I can't help but feel they'd do well to fill those venues, but perhaps I am projecting...I can't see that many people caring. Especially at those prices.

And you can bet they'll be doing Reading/Leeds.

Jane’s Addiction have announced that they are planning to celebrate the final week of the 25th anniversary of the release of their Nothing’s Shocking album with two very special and exclusive UK shows this August in London and Manchester and even better they’re set to sing the album song by song.

Lead singer for Jane’s Addiction Perry Farrell said, “When we started planning to do a few of these events for “Shocking” we really felt that we absolutely had to make London and Manchester part of the celebration.” “The fans there and in the UK played such a strong part in making it special the first time around.”
Why do only TWO shows though? I'm sure even they could possibly sell out a 10 gig stint? And doing festivals, I also don't think they're catering for their 'original' fan base who are far too old to be camping in the pissing rain for three days, not washing.

Like me.

Hey PB, trust you're keeping well mate?

Totally agree at the size of venue... last show here was Camden's Koko - officially sold out in advance but didn't feel like it and people were definitely buying tix on the night. Brixton is like 4-5k. The fact it's an NS show might get a few people out but £50 will also keep a few fence-sitters on that fence. Not gonna lie, i'd obviously love to see an NS run-through and i remember posting years ago that it's the exact thing they should do - however, i'm just not feeling it one bit and £50 gets me into 5 shows of last night's ilk.

Tickets are £37.50 if you buy at the venue. £43 if you buy online with transaction fee.

Do Jane's play encores at these NS gigs? I'd be hoping for Three Days and Stop.

You can expect an encore of Jane Says and Mountain Song.
