I'm too lazy to dig it up but wasn't this video another almost direct rip-off of a U2 video - "Discotheque?"Tyler Durden wrote:

i refuse to believe that either of those french gentlemen were directors.
It looks more like someone said "step into this dome of lights and rock out"
and they did.
As for Etty: if she was in the video it would have looked like this...

These guys directed the videos for "Vertigo" and "City of Blinding Lights". One of them also directed "Get On Your Boots" and "Magnificent".

wow, even Dave and the Edge have almost the same guitars. Too bad. I loved this album, but not that video. Speaking of gay, did you catch that Village People tribute at the end?

I remember when that Discotheque video came out it was one of those WTF moments where I thought one of my favorite bands had completely lost the plot. Fortunately, the album itself had some great songs on it.guysmiley wrote:wow, even Dave and the Edge have almost the same guitars. Too bad. I loved this album, but not that video. Totally! When I first saw the Discotheque video, I was devastated. I find the video a lot less "offensive" today. Thankfully the album aged very well and has become somewhat of an unsung gem.Pandemonium wrote:I remember when that Discotheque video came out it was one of those WTF moments where I thought one of my favorite bands had completely lost the plot. Since I started knowing U2 with the Lemon video and then Discotheque, it didn't seem too weird... it just seemed like a joke, so I didn't make a great deal out of it. After all, I was 13 years old
That's the area where U2 never really made it. In my opinion, their best videos are One (the one shot in Berlin), Lemon and Numb.
