TV show appearances

#1 Post by Eric B. » Wed Sep 07, 2011 4:20 am

2 singles out and no tv show appearances like Leno or Letterman. Wha't should I think of that. Has the biznizz lost it's interest? Maybe some will come with the album's release?? :noclue:

Are viewers of Leno or Letterman really interested in Janes Addiction?

it makes no sense to do it now. these are done the week the album is out usually. they would have no problem getting on either show.

Aw, some of 'em are I guess. It will surely bring them to the attention of a whole lot of not so avid followers like us. Either way. That doesn't really matter if they're interested or not. If Jane's are not able to get on those I think it''s a sign also corporate America has given up on 'em. Hopefully they'll get there around the album release and they will gain some momentum. I don't think IF is dong much in the charts so that's a missed opportunity like ETTL was.

Don't get me wrong. I like the songs.......................but how about mainstream America? I hope the album will be somewhat of a success. They spoiled a lot of goodwill with me but I still wish this thing won't go to sleep without anyone noticing.

Perry has played Letterman pretty consistently. Most of the better bands tend to favor his show. MOST major label bands play one of the late night talk shows when their album comes out. Sort of a no brainer we'll see Jane's on one of them.

Remember their week long stint on Kimmel?

Why would this even be a question?

Yeah, how about that? I got some footage of that like the Perry and Dave interviews and the homeless skit, but Perry co-hosted it for a week I understand? Anyone have it complete and willing to share? I'd like to see it.

I like Fallon. He has a good show. And he has the Roots.

+1

Kids today just want to have their own Letterman. Their own Conan.

But Fallon does not have the talent of either of them. He's a shitty comedian from a sketch show that he got on by playing stupid parody songs.

He doesn't have that "thing" that makes him a leader. That makes him bigger than life. He's just too much of an everyman. Nothing special about him. People think he's hip because he's young, but he won't last.

Yes. And doing some of the best shows of his career.

Fallon is so much better than he's being given credit for. He's also extremely knowledgeable when it comes to music. He's got a great show and he'll do just fine. You guys sound like the people criticizing Conan's first year. Conan's actually not doing so well in the ratings. I love him, but he'll probably be gone before Fallon is.

Both shows are fine, but they're not late night talk shows. They're comedic politcal shows. And they grow stale after awhile no matter how much I agree/love the hosts.

Conan's ratings are just fine.

TBS recently said he is right where they expected him to be.

http://nymag.com/daily/entertainment/20 ... lopez.html

And i read elsewhere that they signed him for a few more years.

Keep in mind that Conan is not meant to even compete with Letterman or Leno. He's on at the time he is because they are going after the demographics that watch The Daily Show and Colbert Report. That is his competition.

And it's not even just TV.They are smart enough to know that web traffic and phone app use is important, and are monitoring that as well. And Conan is bringing in huge numbers in that respect.

Jimmy Fallon is terrible. The guy was AWFUL on SNL. His standup sucks (I think his one album sold 3 copies). His movie career went nowhere. His show is decent...but that has almost nothing to do with him (the same could be said for the Jimmy Kimmel show...decent show, horrible host).

Jimmy Fallon has to be Lorne Michaels' nephew or some shit. Or he has incriminating photos of someone higher up at NBC. To me, his career is inexplicable.

If their audiences were cool with Porno for Pyros, they're gonna' be okay with Jane's.

Anyways, I agree with all of the Fallon talk in here. Dude isn't funny. Never was. Seems like anyone can get their own talk show if Fallon can. Doing celebrity impressions is the only thing he's good at. Everything else...fucking awful. I think the only reason his show is still on the air is because of the skits and The Roots.

My ranking:
1. Conan
2. Kimmel
3. Leno
4. Letterman (sorry guys, I've never liked him)
5. Fallon/Furgeson (truthfully I've never watched much of Fergeson at all)

leno is a douche bag ..
conan kinda creeps me out but if i watch him for like 5 minutes he usually cracks me up
dave is a walking corpse who bores me to death
kimmel used to be good but i think he lost it since silverman left him
and.. i kinda like fallon but his stupid college game show advertising crap makes me change the channel
