The name of this band is stupid. My friend told me it has a Jane's/Porno vibe. I kind of see it but in a more straight forward rock sort of way. The singer sounds Perryish with a Sunny Day type feel but he accents certain words in an annoying way. I don't hate it, some parts are cool.

My swim coach used to have this on a mix he'd playing during practices. Kind of like a bastard cousin of "obvious" or something. He even does the Perry "go!" thing in it

To be honest, I got tired of them pretty quickly, and looking back with hindsight, they were pretty mediocre. A lot of the reviews you can find now do a pretty good job of explaining what was missing... it was that early 2000s 60s revival stuff that Franz Ferdinand, Jet, et. al. were doing for garage rock, disco, and a bunch of other genres. It's true that the guy's vocals really are Perry Farrell-inspired (someone from the band actually told me directly that Perry was an influence). But they're not great songwriters, and every song has that same spacey bland homage to hallucinogenics and sunny happy LA... They even kind of sound like an LA version of ZZ Top meets the Mamas and the Papas.

Yeah they kind of remind me of Polyphonic Spree meets Flaming Lips meets Porno. Pretty good for chill morning mix though.

I've been watching this show, and its theme song reminds me a lot of Jane's, what they were aiming for around the relapse tour with more electronica influences.
