I don't know if it's just the recording quality, but god... that sounds terrible. There's no bass in the mix at all.Noonesshocking wrote:Hello!

Re: Hello everyone
It's the recording although admittedly the sound wasn't great with the band and 150 people crammed in that tiny bar with people using '09 era cell phones trying to record the show. There's much better clips with much better audio on YT from this show.Hype wrote:I don't know if it's just the recording quality, but god... that sounds terrible. Re: Hello everyone
I was at El Cid. It wasn't a proper show so much as a warm up gig. But man opening with Whores into Trip Away is something I'll never forget.

Re: Hello everyone
I love those tiny shows they did pre-ninja. So much excitement. I prefer this rendition of NOL to anything I've heard from these recent ritual shows. Uncharacteristic showmanship from Eric here - pointing over at Dave all like "check that shit" when he does that little run right before the outro. Cool to see.
I still get a special feeling watching these vids, just like I did when they were first posted nearly 8(!) years ago. So much hope and optimism during that time period

Re: Hello everyone
Wow, there was some of the 1.O magic there, for real. When I took my son, Eric was sitting on a stack completely detached from the show as he played bass in it. I felt like a fraud with Samuel.

Re: Hello everyone
My friend and I were about 15 - 20 people back from getting in for the horribly packed La Cita bar show. At least I got to see the later El Cid and Echoplex shows. The magic was gone by the time they played Irvine for the NINJA show that Summer though.SR wrote:I was one person away from getting in.
Re: Hello everyone
Enjoy what you saw. You probably will not be seeing it ever again.

Q: Could you ever work with Eric again?
Dave's Answer: I love and respect him but it is very unlikely

Re: Hello everyone
would anyone even want him to come back? it would just be another disappointment. eric is not the savior.
Re: Hello everyone
He is the savior.
But even god himself could not fix a band fronted by PerryEtty Farrell.

Re: Hello everyone
Why is everyone talking as if Eric would want to come back anyway? He is done.
Re: Hello everyone
I did see one small show....Echoplex I believe as mentioned by Panda. Dot Hacker opened and I was enthralled by them. Janes was just ok. Fractures were already showing. However, the clip from El Cid kills it.
Re: Hello everyone
I do appreciate the Hammerstein show; I was there for a bit, but the acclaim it gets from 1.0 fans confuses me. It was no where close to 89-91. Someone recently posted a show from 91 in Florida that was sublime.....the only good thing about Florida ever.

Agree 100%.SR wrote:I do appreciate the Hammerstein show; I was there for a bit, but the acclaim it gets from 1.0 fans confuses me. It was no where close to 89-91.
Probably because Dave was on the wrong side of the stage
