Oh good. Pretty soon they'll hit the 30 year anniversary of NS and can play it in full at a summer festival near you! Then it's just a short time period until we can do the same with Ritual! Lot's to look forward to guys!bman wrote:Last shows of the year, not last shows ever. Dark Matter is funny. Dave is a dick but he's a pretty quick witted.

I don't pay attention of member band statements about: break out, reunions, no more, relapse, dead and buried, future plans, break out, never say never, drama, friends again, break out, new projects....
A 30 year story of a disfunctional family.

hahhahah gold:
Jane’s Addiction are set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Wednesday. The band has a history of fallouts and breakups. Below is a timeline of the band’s drama.
1991: Jane’s Addiction break up at their absolute peak after Ritual de lo Habitual and the first Lollapalooza tour established them as one of the pioneering acts in alternative rock.
1997: Jane’s Addiction reunite with Flea taking over on bass for Eric Avery, and split after a ‘Relapse’ tour due to heroin abuse by Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro.
2001: Jane’s Addiction reunite with Porno for Pyros bassist Martyn LeNoble on bass.
2002: Perry Farrell fires Martyn LeNoble and Chris Chaney replaces him for the recording of Strays.
2004: Jane’s Addiction split again when Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins, and Chris Chaney announce they’re dumping Perry Farrell and forming a new band (The Panic Channel) with former MTV VJ Steve Isaacs.
2008: After 17 years, Jane’s Addiction reunite with original bassist Eric Avery.
2009: Jane’s Addiction attempt to record new material with Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor producing. Perry Farrell and Eric Avery clash in the studio, leading to the new song “Embrace The Darkness” never seeing the light of day.
2010: Eric Avery quits and is replaced by Duff McKagan.
2010: Duff McKagan quits and is replaced by Chris Chaney and Dave Sitek for the recording The Great Escape Artist, with Chaney later officially rejoining the band.
2013: Jane’s Addiction reportedly fight during 2013 tour.

Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album

They are working on a program software that creates music from songs database.S&M wrote:Really?...you didn't think it at least amusing in a retro beatle way?....with all the Cookie Monster vocal bands and the hipster shit I thought it felt comforting?..whatever,,different strokes different folks I guess...I like it
The "new" Beatles is pretty nice.
So I suppose in next few years we would be able to create a "new" Jane album every time we want
Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
This doesn't sound like the Beatles at all. It sounds like West Indian Girl meets Brian Wilson meets Elliot Smith. I realize those are all post-Beatles reference points, but this just has way too much disco ethereal shit going on in it. The Beatles would never make something this shitty.Stickyfingers wrote:They are working on a program software that creates music from songs database.S&M wrote:Really?...you didn't think it at least amusing in a retro beatle way?....with all the Cookie Monster vocal bands and the hipster shit I thought it felt comforting?..whatever,,different strokes different folks I guess...I like it

It's not that, I was employing some amusing word play to 67's comment. Not passing comment on your link.S&M wrote:Really?...you didn't think it at least amusing in a retro beatle way?....with all the Cookie Monster vocal bands and the hipster shit I thought it felt comforting?..whatever,,different strokes different folks I guess...I like it
I clicked it and yeah it's amusing in the way you say I guess, but I don't listen to music to be "amused". Generally speaking I don't mind LC's music, but I didn't like this. Like you say though: DSFDF
Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
Yup, definitely has a really strong Brian Wilson vibe.Hype wrote:This doesn't sound like the Beatles at all. It sounds like West Indian Girl meets Brian Wilson meets Elliot Smith. If you'd like to hear what the Beatles would sound like today, have a listen to Tame Impala's Lonerism. Or just any of his albums, really.

Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
There will be another Jane's album at some point over these next 10 years...
Perry will take the family to the beach so he can go surfing (one last time) and while arriving, he will cross paths with Eric. Eric will inadvertently take Perry's claimed parking spot...then Perry will get all butthurt and decide to make Dave and Stephen record 10 songs about it.
The first single will be "Magic Bliss (From an Asian Girl's Kiss)", from the album Underwater Ghosts. There will be a theatrical, multi-media component to accompany the album that the band will plan to perform in Las Vegas following the release...but due to logistics, this will never actually happen. The lead single will be performed at a handful of regular shows, while the rest of the setlist is filled out with tracks from NS and Ritual, plus "Just Because" and "Superhero".
Underwater Ghosts tracklist:
1) Hydroponic
2) Magic Bliss (From an Asian Girl's Kiss)
3) Underwater Ghosts
4) Bam!
5) Crystal Shores
6) Artificial Social Life
7) The Imposter (4 Strings of Deceit)
8) She's Real
9) Kind Heaven II
10) Rebel Souls of Los Angeles

"Magic Bliss (From an Asian Girl's Kiss)" is the best song title I have heard in YEARS. For real.

I refuse to live in a world where Jane's doesn't finally finish and unleash the songs "top dog" and "oh! magic" on an album.

Seriously though, I COMPLETELY forgot those track names even existed. I need a refresher...were those names leaked during the Duff era?

That's hysterical! BAM! She's Real! Dude you nailed those tracks!Tyler Durden wrote:There will be another Jane's album at some point over these next 10 years...

So speaking of albums, I haven't listened to TGEA in a very long time. I recently played the whole thing through on a drive and I must admit it wasn't terrible. I actually love Underground.
Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
I liked Underground quite a bit. I also adored the music on Irresistible Force. Twisted Tales was a C+. Splash A little Water was a C. I don't remember caring about anything else on there.bman wrote:That's hysterical! BAM! She's Real! IF ts the only good song on there
Re: Dave: there will never be another Jane's album
I just revisited it. Man there's some really forgettable crap on there. Curiosity Kills? I'll Hit You Back? I forgot those songs existed. End to the Lies is so pathetically stupid.
