Nothing says pretentious like selling music created on a PC on a shitty cassette tape. But then again, he sold 'em all, so what do I know?

I still have a cassette player, but I'm not interested in EA's music.

Cassettes seem to be a thing again. On Saturday, it's 'International Cassette Day'.

Agreed. But if being pretentious is the worst thing a member of Jane's was doing I'd be thrilled.

Should we take up a collection from the community here? Cull another 200 together to offer to Eric for digital files?

We could double his money.

Yeah...

http://cassettestoreday.com/

Cassette Store Day is set to return this year, taking place on October 8th.
Founded in 2013, this celebration of the format has grown from strength to strength, with more and more tape labels seeming to spring up on a daily basis.
UK labels Suplex Cassettes, Kissability, and Sexbeat unite with American cousin imprint Burger Records, joined by Mansions and Millions/Späti Palace in Germany, Balades Sonores in France, and VSI from Japan.
Cassette Store Day co-founder Jen Long explains: “Every year around Spring the emails and questions begin - will there be another Cassette Store Day? When will it happen? Can I put out a tape? For a supposedly dying format there’s still so much love and life for those little bits of plastic. I know come October there’ll be another special release list and days of celebration planned around the world. Vive le cassette! as our partners in France might say."
Burger Records added: "When we completed Cassette Store Day 2015 we went back to the drawing board. We said 'We can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's best Cassette Store Day. 2016 will be that year. Better than it was before. Better... stronger... faster.'"
Fancy taking part? It's free to register your store, while it takes a small £5 admin fee to register your release. Full details HERE.
Cassette Store Day takes place on October 8th.
