Common doesn't mean bad  Actually, you're right, nobody really cares but, since there is still a bunch of hardcore fans around here, I thought we could discuss how good this one is or say "Summertime rolls is so damn' good here" or I don't know...

But yes, life sucks !

I was talking the other day with someone who was at one of Rage Against the Machines first live gigs
which happened to be when they opened for Porno for Pyros on the Castaic Lake bootleg from 1992.
He said the crowd wasn't feeling Rage at all and threw a bunch of garbage at them onstage so Perry came out to try and calm the situation but it wasn't much help.

I was pretty fired up, it felt like an eternity waiting from the time Jane's broke up until Porno's debut came out. Matter of fact that first Rage cd helped bide the time.

I actually don't listen much music on computers. At work a bit, but never at home.

So I appreciate to have a good old CD or vinyl to play in my hifi.

Thanks for the links.

No problems. I found buying a couple of re-recordable CDRs a cheap way to play boots on a stereo. Burn, play, burn next, play, on and on. Saves having piles of normal CDRs clogging up your house.

Thanks for the audio - I barely listen to them anymore, but am not too jaded to pass on listening to some shows I have never heard. Cheers.

that is horseshit. crowd was 100% on board for rage. it was intense as hell.
there's a video of this show shot from the stage. prove me wrong.
i was there, up front, it was as good as it gets. the RATM
demo tape had been going around for quite some time.
everyone knew the lyrics. it was tremendous. doesn't
mean some white trash moron didn't throw something, but to
say "the crowd wasn't feeling Rage" is 100% BS.

I can't prove you wrong. I believe you. When he told me that story, I stopped him right when he said that part because it involved PFP
and asked him a bunch of other questions about the show to guage if he knew what he was talking about or even just plain bullshitting.
The convo we were having was about RATM and then he starts telling me about seeing them in Valencia CA back in 92.

thanks for the boot links. just listened to p4p I would for you at roseland for the first time since singing along at the top of my lungs like everyone else in the room that night. teary eyed. then and now. okay not so much now, but a little.
that howard stern week in NY was a hopeful moment. Relapse was cool and trippy. since then has been well chronicled here. but that night man, when dave strolled out, and finally, that song. man, that was okay.
it was also 21 years ago. fuck.

Seeing PFP play Mt. Song live in an itty bitty club back in '96 is the closest I ever came to seeing actual Jane's. I didn't make it a Relapse show. I was sort of traveling around with my GF that Fall and no dates lined up. But holy shit. When Watt started that bass line the place just went fucking bonkers. It looked and felt a lot like watching those VHS tapes (at the time) of old Jane's shows. Perry in a dress, looking possessed. The band locked in. The crowd going nuts. Will forever be my favorite concert moment. The crowd poured in to the streets after that still singing Mt. Song. I was 17 and felt like I could die happy.
