Former Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell is back with his first new solo material since 2001. Titled “Pirate Punk Politician,” the track looks like a rerecording of “Pirates, Punks & Politics,” his 2017 collaboration with The Bloody Beetroots. As the title might suggest, it’s a pretty strange single even for Farrell, taking some cues from his Porno for Pyros material as it builds around a central driving guitar riff with warbling tremolo interludes. “Pirate, punk, politician / I got you in a bad position,” Farrell sings with the hook. Farrell’s last Jane’s Addiction album The Great Escape Artist was released in 2011. Check out “Pirate Punk Politician” below.

this was the only decent sounding song on their live set i thought. the live version sounds way better. i don't like how the vocals were mixed. they sound odd and the dumb vocal effects are not needed. it is etty free though.

Sounds like an outtake from TGEA, but without a "good" guitar solo.

Not a bad song. Kind of short. Kind of Hot Lava/Hard Charger esque. Sounds like it could be a P4P song.

The Thievery Corp one was a different version though. I can't seem to find Satellite Party's The Solutionists anywhere anymore.

Loudwire article states that the image in OP is the album cover. At least that's a bit more interesting than we've recently gotten out of him.

According to their website, 250 seated, 500 standing.

Not sure if Perry's show will be a dinner and show event or just show and all tables are removed.

Dave made a comment a few months back about him and Perk both being fired. I'm not sure how tongue in cheek it was though.

But today, Dave wished Perry and Etty happy birthday. Literally tagged them both. Perry isn't even allowed to have his own birthday alone.

I like the riff a lot, the problem is that you hear it too much, song should have been developed a bit more, so I agree, its lazy. The verse is weak. All in all better than I expected
