Just listened 30 seconds snippets on Amazon and its beyond embarassing.
Snake have many hips, Where have you been and Spend the body are the worst tracks I ever listened. Pure nightmare.
I will forget soon this 3-minute listening experience from my mind.

I heard the same snippets, the Pirate riff is cool and I like a few pieces of songs here and there. Could be worse over all, but I agree that there are some pars/songs are train wrecks

It's not good. It makes SYTBS seem like a masterpiece.

The first track, Cheerfulness, is non offensive. That's the best I can say about this album.
He should have just made a whole album of jangly rock like that. That 60s vibe suits him well.

I have to agree with this.
Track no. 3 seems like a lame attempt to a piano-bar type thing. This song is all over the place: deep bass, rock guitars, piano, violins, strings, the vocals hardly ever stop, there’s no space for anything.
It’s pretty shit overall. Track no. 5 features a sweet melody sang by a female (before becoming another mismatch if styles and instruments), but there’s no way we’ll ever hear it sung live by Etty like that.

More Than I Could Bear is Bowie-ish in a decent way. It doesn't take on the full gamut of Bowie flair that would make it a great song, but it's approximately a mediocre Bowie B-side from one of his crappier albums. It also might be the best put together song on the album. A lot of the others sound like a bunch of random pieces tossed together without much care for coherence. Some of those pieces are interesting, maybe for 15 seconds, and then it goes back to an uninspired repetitive chorus/verse.

You guys are so biased against Perry.

I just listened to Cheerfulness again. Not bad. It should be longer though.

I just listened to the whole album. It's not terrible. I just don't understand what the heck it is. It's supposed to be a musical I guess. It seems like a college project musical.

oh and spend the body is just a terrible as it was many years ago. It should have been left off.

I’m listening to it and I like it? ..It’s not hard rock but either was porno for pyro’s or his solo album and I loved that? ..I’m only half the way in but?..Kinda dig it? ..So far he hasn’t stretched out vocally but he’s still creating and alive musically!! ..Kinda kick back? ..I’ve heard a lot worse lately on the radio..I’m glad he’s still creating even if it isn’t everybody’s cup of tea

I don’t think I’ve ever agreed with you as much as right now. That was a great description.Hype wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2019 8:05 amMore Than I Could Bear is Bowie-ish in a decent way.
