I bought the TNO on vinyl a few weeks ago.

It's actually quite good. Not memorable, but good

Ya because panic channel ended way longer then 8 years ago.... :noclue:
I've been to see Royal Machines at their Xmas residency the last 4 years in a row.

Not one thread about how amazing Dave is. :noclue:
He's ying, you're yang
Except he praises Perry endlessly and I rarely ever talk about Dave.
Except he doesn't stalk your posts,
So we SHOULDN'T reply to the threads on the top of the first page that everyone is actively talking about?

Shit, I have been doing message boards wrong for 20 years and didn't even realize it.

I can certainly bump some stuff from the last page if that's what you want.
plus him keeping his BS to his own threads a lot is nice
So you're saying I SHOULD make threads about Dave?

You're confusing me now.

6767 is so mad right now.
About what?

The 17th time you have posted this poll? This is an annual event around here, much like the thread about the first time you heard Jane's, the thread about your favorite bootlegs, and the thread about what would have happened if Pete stuck with the band in 97.

I know how you feel, and it doesn't change that you're all still paying Perry money to listen to him wreck the songs you idolize.

Enjoy Kind Heaven in Vegas, my dude. When you see Perry banging Etty on the big screen and feel embarrassed that you got duped out of your money again, Caesar's Palace is right next door. :thumb:
Buddy who are you even talking to? I haven't given Perry a dime since 2012.

I KNEW this thread would see a 6767 multi-post response.

Panic Channel was just goofy to me mainly because the fans they attracted were borderline cult like towards all things Dave. Reading on the old Panic Channel board how one their fans was afraid of going to the "big city" to see a show without packing her gun was hilarious. Oh and the chalk art they would do outside on the sidewalk with the candles.

I voted Satellite Party though on the basis that they quickly gave up on playing their own songs in favor of Jane's/Porno songs. As dumb as I thought Panic Channel was at least they never did that.

No shit. I had to ban so many of those crazy bitches.

Certifiably insane. Seriously. I had to read their insane rambling PMs every time I suspended them for their insanity.

Could you imagine how much worse Dave would have gotten crucified if TPC had played even ONE Jane's tune?

I'm just glad that Satelite Party was handing out free tickets for Perry's cover band so everyone could hear Jane's songs played correctly by Nuno Beckencourt from Bulletboys.

wtf isn't Spread on that list? Definitely the coolest of them all
Maybe "Best Jane's-related project" would be another interesting poll for the board.
I really like Deconstruction album, my favorite non-Jane and non-Porno project.

I voted Kind Heaven as worst album, I'd rather listen Panic Chanel, and look one of their videos, they got lots of hot chicks.

I rank every janes-related went downhill from NS (best) to Kind Heaven (worst) in the exact order as they were released, every album worst than previous at increasing faster speed.

It's a little early to have Kind Heaven on there, but I think that's what brought on this entire poll. It takes a little time to let an album sink in. I haven't even heard it yet except two songs.

Hahaha, those women were funny. I don't know why I ended up at that forum (have never listened to TPC nor am I a big Dave fan). Some of them were very nice.

So your vote wasn't on the basis of what Interwoven declared in his original post. It should be discounted.

If someone thinks like that I'd wish that he or she would change perspective and instead think: We have two different versions of these great songs, cool.

There are a lot of really cool moments on TNO. Rich Costey did a great job producing and mixing it too

It was just too polished. They took a great sounding rock record and damn near made it Nu metal.

yeah that spread record is awesome .. polar bear too .. both better than deconstruction (which didn't make the poll) .. i still hold a lot of hatred for strays as the first nail in the coffin (and that it is a wretched listening experience)

For the last few years, I’ve listened to Deconstruction much more than Jane’s. Its beauty hasn’t been soiled one bit.

Deconstruction is so great

But Why Something Instead Of Nothing... damn. I love that one slightly more. What a cool vibe start to finish.

That's probably the best thing Eric ever did, in my opinion.

If nothing else, the fact that Iris is on the Deconstruction album makes it my favorite non Jane's Avery album.

You could still so easily hear the magic that Dave and Eric could make together. The 4 of them were lightening in a bottle in that era. Between Ripple and Iris you could hear what that band was evolving in to. They were only getting better in my opinion. Nothing Shocking is an all time classic, but for me, Ritual might be the greatest rock album ever made. And I really feel like had it's proper follow up been made, it would have been absolutely incredible.

Something I've given a lot of thought to is that an argument could be made that each member of Jane's peaked creatively at different times and at no point did their peaks overlap. I think Eric peaked in Jane's during NS/Ritual, Dave peaked in Deconstruction as a guitar player (although the songs he played on were certainly less iconic and memorable than the Jane's records), while Perkins peaked during the self titled P4P album where he was doing some truly batshit stuff on the drums that I've never really heard anyone replicate. It's Perry that's the hard one for me to choose. He benefited immensely from Eric's peak and Dave's synergy with Eric and wrote/sang some really beautiful stuff in Jane's, but I do think that GGU is probably Perry's most interesting creative phase; he's dabbling in electronic music in a way that felt like an outlier compared to his peers in the alt rock scene and GGU doesn't sound like many things I've heard. And then of course, the next thing he does is go on Relapse tour and then meet Etty and thus the (arguable) peak ends spectacularly.
