2020
More likely than not, we’ll probably see them back next year. Their last show was in 2017. This is the longest the band has been dormant since the strays breakup.
My question: can they seriously come back with the lineup they’ve had since 2011 without new music? They bled NS and Ritual to death between 2015 and 2017. Can there possibly be a public appetite for a regular or full album show again? If not, do they beg Eric to come back for one more go round? The latter scenario seems less crazy to me now than it did a year ago.

People in general wouldn't give a shit about new Jane's songs and the songs would most likely suck, so why hope for that to happen?
I think Dave has set foot in a recording studio for the last time in his life, which fuckin sucks. I was hoping for one more solo album.

Re: 2020
I would love to have at least one more studio record. A band like Jane's can't have only 4 studio albums. Same goes for other groups, like Living Colour and SOAD.
"The Great Escape Artist", for me, was a very good one. It's very different from "Strays", and I like that darkness.
And if that's impossible... is it THAT HARD to do at least 3-4 new songs and release them as an EP?
The only tour that Jane's never did was a "rarities" one. I mean playing only songs like "City", "My Time", "Maceo", "1%", "I Would For You". I would prefer that instead of hearing the same songs again and again
Or maybe they'll do a 17th anniversary tour for "Strays"...............

Re: 2020
I'd be down for a "30th Anniversary" of Ritual de lo Habitual with a tour playing it live start to finish, promoting a deluxe edition remaster with a bonus disc of unreleased outtakes and the full 3 Days poem, plus a dvd of Gift with bonus live footage outtakes. Make it happen, guys!
Re: 2020
The *truth* is that the band have no current fans as such. They have people who liked them back then (or discovered them in the 1990’s or very early 2000’s). Nobody gives two shits about what they do. We’ve seen the video of Perry being joined by Pete at some festival, and they were playing in a small stage and there were like 15-20 people watching them. Nobody cares. There’s hardly anyone buying their records. Perry can’t sell tickets for his Exotic Buttfuck Orchestra. Chaney, although a full member of the band, might be even more obscure than Eric himself.
There’s no reason to get back together to create something new. The well has been dry for so long, that the bucket comes up with bleeding stones. Please never get back together. It’s shameful for everyone involved.

Re: 2020
I mean how many years ago were the PFP recordings that happened and were never put out? Rarities tour? Haha, how many years have we been asking for that. It'll never happen. Yeah, lots of talk from every member putting out stuff in the past, but sadly I might never happen. Eric and Dave seem disillusioned about making music anymore. I know we are all getting old. Is this what it's like, or are times changing to just be very unfavorable for music not for 12 year old girls? I remember washed up acts touring for the older guys when I was a kid. Seems the well is drying up for everyone. I'd be shocked if they put out more music. Even the RnR Hall of Fame won't seem to happen.
Re: 2020
I don't think the well has dried out, cause all of them are so gifted, it's just that the members aren't willing to work hard cause their hearts aren't in it anymore for whatever reason. It takes hard work to make good/great art usually and if they really committed they could still do interesting things. Lou Reed worked on Heroin every day for a year
Re: 2020
Prediction: When Dave is around 60 years old, has lost his looks and can't host TV shows anymore, he starts releasing solo albums.
Otherwise, this band is toast.
A handful of festivals here and there MAYBE. and Chaney is gonna be the bass player. Maybe Flea joins if the peppers are in town but this is done. DONE.
Just stop wishing, everyone.
Perry promised PFP and it didn't happen.
Perry promised 6 Jane's albums in the can and you got a 10 song Kind Heaven album with 3 remixes of 10 year old songs.
They'll collaborate. Sparingly. But you saw the best "reunion" you're gonna get in 97, solid band in 2001, and in 2007 Perry and Etty teamed up to shoot Eric in the head.
It's done.
Stop asking to be disappointed further. You'll never get Three Days part 2, you'll only get Another Soulmate part 2.
Let it die. Go find a new band to love. You still have time.

Re: 2020
The conditions haven't been right for them to create great music again since the mid-90s.
They're all rich or at least comfortable financially.
They're no longer driven by the desire to make it big (coz they already did).
They're no longer surrounded by struggling artists and a DIY punk culture.
They have nothing to prove.
They don't live in each other's worlds anymore.
They already wrote the songs.
The urgent, intense nature of Jane's music is specific to the time and place that created it. It's the music of young men expressing themselves. Rich musicians in their 50s cannot channel this urgency.
It's been over since Relapse, despite 2 or 3 decent songs since then and a handful of great live performances.
