I check in on ANR to see what people were saying about RHCP and Jane's playing together at that fundraiser and I find Six7Six7 is still talking about the man he hates, Perry Farrell, on a regular basis. Was weird then, still weird now. If you hate the guy, don't spend so much of your time talking about him. Perry probably checks in on the board every once in a while and laughs about how he's still got his haters following his every step.

The Great Escape Artist was a hit I mean it was number 12 on the billboard charts. The album cover really held it back

Who hasn't been there, you're up way to late so you attempt to sober up by going into the bathroom and splashing water on your face

I had never bothered to listen to that Splash song. Had a minute so decided to clickie on it... :hehe:

It was between ok and dumb...... but lots of OG Jane's was "dumb"- still loved it......... I left after about 2 minutes out of boredom.:noclue:

But then I saw the link to this......

:worship:
Oh....this gave me chills again..... remember coming out of my skin when I realized I was going to be able to see Jane's.

The funny thing about Splash is that it's Dave and Cheney's favorite song on the album!
I still like Underground, Broken People, and irresistible Force. End to the Lies is ok. The rest of the album is meh.

I think I was just thrilled with "new" material in tandem with them touring....
Was very familiar with the Live 87 version and did like that much better. Also this electronic version was my "wakeup" song everyday for a couple months.....

I listened to it today for like two minutes (as someone mentioned above)

I've always thought that song had a pretty good Bridge

It's got kind of a weird latter-day Porno For Pyros vibe to it, but the drums are bad, and it doesn't have the heart or energy of Pete's guitar. It sounds exactly like what they are now.

I guess the main reason I like that song is the way Perry's voice still soars above everything.

I think it's awful. Sounds like G'n'R/Bon Jovi/Aerosmith in cheesy, anthemic mode.

^ Yup the vocal is cock rock style crap. The guitars/drums not bad but Perry ruined the song, and i believe Duff wrote the vocal for him but wasn't credited. Perry shouldve gone back to the psi com vocal for that song.

You mean to me? Yeah...I wanna hear Stevie and Eric...my initial thought when flea starts is "there's flea" ie its not Jane's...was fun live and stuff...a nice treat...I went to every LA show with flea btw...it's just not the same...I respect the fuck out of how flea tried to fill EAs shoes without overstepping...but his sound and style just stood out, where EA was the road

Splash a Little Water On It sucks ass. I also feel like it tries to ape three days a little.

Ultimate Reason sort of sounded like Porno in the verses to me and I kind of dug that part, but then the pre-chorus and chorus sounds like shit you'd hear on VH1 in 1999/2000.

If I thought that there'd be a few nuggets of JA lore here, I'd go. Love the museum. But, I think I have clicked on maybe a half a dozen interviews with PF in the last year and it's just weird, in a weird way.

Grammy museum is shut down through the end of March (as of today). No details on rescheduling or refunds at this point.
