Dave seems to have no interest at all in making new music. It's been that way for a few years.

It's so sad, I'd LOVE another solo album from him, nothing would be more exciting, but he's out of the game (and maybe ideas)

I’d struggle to say he’s a musician anymore. He’s like... a veeeery minor celebrity whose last creative output was in
2001 (!!).

Just looked for his IG page, which I never followed, but know he was on and posted constantly. He appears to have taken it down

This is actually really cool imo. I had no idea he was doing this. It’s awesome that he just put his head down and made some art and said “fuck social media”.

I don’t get the vibe that he’s over music. Seems like he’s just acknowledging he’s not really a solo guy and is in his element as a collaborator in a band context. Right now, that can’t happen because of the pandemic.

The guy lives for social media.

I skimmed, and when I read the kumbaya stuff on human nature I clicked out.

Yeah, I guess I'm not impressed because social media 'personalities' (and/or people who think they are) do this when they upgrade to the next level of 'empowerment', for some reason. They also tend to collect lots of empowering moments (such as taking a shower or having breakfast) that they can later on post when they come back, earning likes and shares by the dozens from all those people they inspire.

That is true - part of him could be looking forward to a big “welcome back” moment should he choose to reactivate.
