It fascinates me how anyone could burn bridges with the likes of Martyn LeNoble or Eric Avery. Martyn seems like a super chill, down to earth guy...with boundaries. And while Eric seems the same, he's not a "yes" man...but for the benefit of the art and those around him.

It's too bad Perry can't trust the process and leave his ego at the door.

In the case with Perk, he seems as mellow as it gets and likely has never challenged Perry on anything. With Dave, business is business. "How much does it pay? Where? What time?"

It's just sad. Between Jane's and Porno, there were five quality albums (1987-1996). Without Perry's ego, they easily could've doubled that.

Not excusing it. Just seems to me there are some bands that just burn white hot then explode, never to be recreated.
Then there are bands that mostly just simmer (in a good way) and stick around.

I hear you. I know that pondering alternate timelines is an oxymoron of sorts. I just find it odd that Perry wasn't able to keep "lesser Jane's" (Porno for Pyros) together. He essntially ends a band over drug addiction and ego clashes...and then does essentially the exact same thing with his next band. After you continually date the same girl in different bodies and experience the same issues over time, it's no longer they who have the problem...it's you. I mean, how many bands, side projects, etc must Perry form and then abandon?

Hey now. I wouldn't call them "lesser Jane's." Completely different vibe than Jane's. Apples to oranges.

Sometimes I feel fortunate to have gotten in to all of this late (93-94ish) and discovered both bands at the same time. I appreciate them both in different ways.

I think we all agree that, even tough Pets it's their main hit, there are not *bad* PFP songs, right? I mean, we can like some songs more or less, but those two albums have superb quality.

And apparently there's also going to be a new Jane's Addiction show, and not a re-stream:

In my opinion, Wishing You Well and Thick of it All aren't good songs. I usually skip them.

In my opinion, Wishing You Well and Thick of it All aren't good songs. I usually skip them.

I think Thick of it All drags a lot, but Wishing Well is pretty cool. Reminds me a bit of Kettle Whistle. In my head, I hear it as a show opener and I think it has a really cool ethereal quality to it that makes it ideal in that context.
