Looks like Jane's is heading a festival in September in Camden NJ. Offspring and Cheaptrick on bill too.
93.3 festival or something. 9/25.

After a year of no shows— I’m debating about going.

I know what they are at this point — I’m vaccinated.

🤷‍♂️

It's like a 90 minute drive for me. It's going to suck. But as the headliner they probably will have to play for 90 minutes. So maybe a few extended jams or Sparks without Perry. I'm going to buy a pit ticket. Fuck it why not lol.

I don't hold any militant position to never see them again, but after hearing PF on that backyard Lolla PFP reunion I just wouldn't look forward to it. My wife is a really casual and emotionally neutral music listener who loves Pets, and even she was horrified.

Oh yeah I'm convinced his voice will last one song. You would think adding a ton of echo and reverb would help. He doesn't do that anymore though,

Sorry! I completely agree! I’ll go if they come to Italy!

I’m going to the Camden show. Have never seen them with Chaney and it just sounds kind of fun to see them play all the standards + Just Because after all the shit we’ve gone through.

Saw them with Eric at the exact sam venue 12 years ago. Had never been more excited for a concert and it was a pivotal night for me. Funny that going to see Jane’s this time is just a fun thing to do.

Came across this to check out a tune or two. I couldn't stop watching; it was like discovering a new band. I don't listen to much Jane's these days, but this was a brutal reminder of their absolute dominion in music and performance back then...especially PF.

Funny, I came across this one recently too. Had never heard the bootleg of it or anything. I actually think this is 1.0 on a bad night, which says a hell of a lot about how amazing they were back then.

Down in the Flames.
My first boot in like 95 or 96. I remember thinking it sounded kinda like garbage compared to the studio releases, but then after a half dozen listens it was, perfect..... :mediate:

Trigger alert...a new best of list. So Spin gives Lolla 1.0 the nod for best concert in the last 35 years. In one form or another, I have seen 9 of these acts.

Lol I peeled yams at warped tour ‘04 in Camden NJ and got back stage passes for the entire day as a result. At some point between bands I walked out onstage to wave to my to some friends. The crowd thought I was coming on stage as part of a band and everyone started cheering. In that moment I knew how it felt to be as they say, a “rockstar” lol

I saw Yeah Yeah Yeahs in '03(?) at the Metro in Chicago. The opening band was called SSION and wore animal costumes. Midway through their set the singer ran in to the crowd, pulled me onstage, and asked me to hold him in my arms. For one song, I walked around the stage cradling their diminutive singer in his stinky animal costume. The crowd loved it. I had that same feeling of "so this is what it's like."

Madonna Blond Ambition tour
2 Lillithfairs
Kate Bush Before the Dawn
Pink Floyd in 2005 but NOT the one with Roger Waters

I also have my own onstage moment. It was during a Liz Phair show at the Warfield. Her stage set up was decorated like a living room/bedroom with chairs, couches, tables etc. and towards the last half of the set she said she got in trouble at one of her previous shows because she invited people up on stage with her to sit on the furniture while she played and I guess the stage ended up being overrun with people. It was during the next song that I noticed someone from out of the corner of my eye walk over and sit down on a couch. Then I saw a girl from the other side sit down in front of a chair and that's when I figured out that they weren't coming from backstage or the side of the stage, but that they were fans doing what Liz had kind of hinted she wanted done, so that's when I and my girlfriend at the time did too. We climbed up on stage along with 20 or 30 other people and I sat right in front of Liz as she played the final 3 or 4 songs of the show. It was cool, but I also got a tremendous amount of stage fright when I looked out towards the crowd and saw all these eyes staring right back at me. I remember getting really lightheaded and I wasn't even doing anything besides sitting there

Another small bonus is that I grabbed the water bottle that Liz was using and I kept that thing in my refrigerator as a souvenir. I think it was in there for a few years before I finally got rid of it

I found the concert review online
April 11, 1995

At the end of her Warfield Theatre concert Sunday, Liz Phair was surrounded by ring-siders who climbed on stage and decorously arrayed themselves on the couches and chairs in her stage set, or simply plopped down cross- legged on the floor, like so many well- behaved children.
