I checked tickets for the Anaheim Pond aka Honda Center and the first dozen rows on the floor and on the sides are all "VIP" package seats running near $700 to $350+ per ticket. Anything further back on the floor runs about $99 - $150+. Interest looks pretty low, I'd guess this show might sell about 60% of available seats max. Hollywood Bowl prices are even more outrageous - Orchestra Pit runs $550 - $1,450. Expect the typical "Dynamic Pricing" bullshit to drop ticket prices way down as November approaches.

Hard Pass.

Janes as a purely nostalgia act, like a Beach Boys of the 90s. I just can’t. Saw them first in ‘89, last time 09. Every iteration in between. Came full circle in ‘09 seeing Eric again. Something poetic about that. I’m good from here on out.

I saw Jane's at the Bowl. Good show. It was the one where Hole (they were great) opened and she went on a shitshow tirade against Perry. They cut power in response. Peter came out and played with Jane's. Nice night.
I caught that show as well. That "performance" by Courtney Love completely solidified my dislike of her completely overshadowing whatever merits her music may (have) had. The Janes set was really the last time I thought the band had any of the old vibe left in them.

I can understand the poetic aspect.

But even '09 felt like a let down to me. '12 was better because Perry was being less ridiculous.

If I do go, I'm not really looking at it as seeing Jane's Addiction and Smashing Pumpkins. It's more like a snapshot of those bands and an evening of entertainment.

Yes, she's an idiot. Her behavior with the rights, etc and aggressive posture with the balance of Nirvana did it for me. And probably things I've long forgotten.

I wouldn't go to this because I hate the Bowl for concerts these days...and the prices. But, I had an absolute blast at the NS 25th anniversary thing on Sunset Blvd some years back. They were well into their cash in/lost voice/cosmetic surgery/B list TV show host era, but I can't completely remove what I loved about em in my youth when I'm there. Met a couple of peeps from here there, but once the show got started, I was in my own world and 24 again. Left drenched. Enjoy for those going.

I agree regarding the Hollywood Bowl. I cannot stand being stuck in those 4 seat boxes with typically at least 2 other drunk idiots. Parking is like the 7th level of Hell. I think the last show I caught there was Arcade Fire back in May of 2007 and since then, I've blown off some shows there I would have otherwise made a serious effort to see.

The last Janes show I had a really good time at was Duff's last gig with them at the Roxy the Summer of 2020 which was I think the first time they used the Suspension Girls gimmick. The 2012 Great Escape tour show at the Wiltern was just ok.

I feel the same way about the Greek...been there a billion times...don't care if I go to the bowl or Greek again...echoplex with Eric was my pull the plug moment...standard small set..done

Holy shit I completely forgot Duff was a member of Jane's Addiction. What a weird few years that was.

I love how any time another serious musician tries to invest in modern Jane's they never stick around.

Bit the bullet and grabbed a floor seat at the end of the row

Was it more than I wanted to pay ? Yes. But at least it wasn’t unlimited platinum BS prices. Just cover price.

I haven’t see Jane’s since 2013 and it seems that the band may not tour much based in recent histories. So…eh…

I think MSG may weirdly be a great setting for them —I don’t think they have played there since …01? Did they play during the reunions? Regardless it might bring something great out of them.

Yes they are a nostalgia act but…I’m in my forties it was blind to happen!

I’m excited though —haven’t seen Pumpkins since 1994!

Looks like hardly any tickets sold for St. Louis so far. Still plenty of seats up near the front. I'll wait until close to the show, and if it's still happening without a covid cancelation I'll grab some cheap tix, squint, and pretend it's still the 90s for a few hours.

Would it kill Navarro to add some little solos like Corgan!

It would require him to actually care about doing anything beyond going through the motions. Fat chance.

But that sounded pretty good. It's always lovely when Etty isn't somehow inserting herself in to things.

Smashing Pumpkins/Porno For Pyros tour I would like better since they're both 90's groups. Could have made their return really good.

I would have been soooooooo into this in like 2005. Honda Center is an easy "in and out" for me... this concert is like 17 years too late.

I don't think I could physically handle the "cringe" of seeing Perry live ever again. I'd probably cringe so hard my heart and lungs would give out.

Billy is *almost* as bad as Perry...

I think I've hit both an age and level of acceptance that I just don't care enough to cringe. $100 for two tickets in the upper level is a reasonable price for an evening of entertainment for me. I won't be going for an "experience" like I used to, but as something to go do.

Side note - I've had a lot of people ask me to go to this show with them. I guess I'm the "Jane's Addiction guy" for some of my friends/family, and they figure it'll be more fun with me. I've had to explain things to all of them. I've tried not to be too negative, because non die hards tend to still like Jane's live. But I don't want them thinking "this is what he was always on about?"

bauhaus recently in a small venue, 10ft from the stage, was an experience. An intense and transcendent one. It’s because the band themselves have so much reverence for their own material. As they should. The Janes crew on the other hand? Let’s face it - Jane’s are just Karaoke Jane’s now. They have zero respect for what they made. Jane’s should never have warped into a thing to do.

I couldn't agree more. But that ship sailed a long time ago. If they were coming alone I'd likely sit it out. But TWO karaoke versions of once favorite bands?? Apparently I'm in.

Agreed. I hope Dave is feeling well enough to do this tour when it starts, but I'm honestly wondering if it'll be switched to an SP/P4P tour at the last second.......which I would not complain about.

Yeah I’m a little concerned- I’m sure Taylor is weighing heavily on his mind. Chaney hasn’t acknowledged the tour either. Weirdly enough Jane’s insta used an old photo with Eric to promote the tour- lazy and misleading imo

Dave did get engaged the other day so congrats to him

If I am not mistaken, he (and numerous others on and off stage) came away with Covid from the Above Ground gig in December. If six months on from that, he can't do a single festival, a date, a full tour before the end of the year seems ambitious. But, who knows...nobody, it seems, when it comes to long covid. When the Daytona gig cancellation was announced, I did question the SP tour - for whatever reason, they didn't feel the need to delay the tour.

FWIW - I can't see a band switch on a tour like this working. They're been marketing it too aggressively with JA on the bill. More likely to have a stand-in guitarist. Comedy moment for Dan!

They're posting a lot of pics with Eric.
