When you have a guitar player like Pete, why would you want to see him replicate Dave’s playing anyway? I think it would be cool to hear some Jane’s get “Porno-fied”.

Yeah, that’s what it would be and I think it could be cool. But it’s not what I personally want.

This Perry quote from RS article:
He continues: “I wish I could have waited longer for Dave. Maybe he will call me in a week and say, 'I'm good to go.' And what could happen is, he could just slide right next to Troy. "
Troy is there cause Dave is out, when Dave is ok, Troy is out.

Or I missed something.

I'm sure there is some contractual agreement with him at this point for the tour.

I don’t see Eric playing with this band beyond the current tour, unless Dave’s return is imminent.

These recent interviews paint a very different picture. He seems in it now until it's over, which with Perry being 63 can't be too far away.

:bored: it's 2022...people are still getting their feelings hurt on Jane's sites? really?
Not at all, but I mistakenly thought that considering the ages most of us are at by this point I’d get a better response from someone disagreeing with me than “why should we care”…Lurking is fine

Because those blast of notes and fretboard runs are as important as any part of those songs? They don’t need to be exact but they are equally important as any element to those tunes? ♥️😎

My point is that all original members of this band are essential. So if you lose Dave (temporarily), you may as well do a full on “gonzo” version of Jane’s Addiction with Pete (a guy who is an integral part of the band’s adjacent history).

Hearing some schmo who’s not part of the band’s history just try to replicate Dave’s playing or not bringing any new wow factor is just boring to me.

Exactly how I feel. But this band is allergic to doing anything interesting. It's always the boring route.

Maybe promoters/financiers don't want 3 members of P4P appearing on stage together under the moniker of Jane's at a time when P4P are planning new music/shows.

Dave is still pissed off at Eric for the xiola.org interviews...he called EA on his shit years ago & BLASTED him publicly...they CAN'T be "good" now...and I don't blame Dave...the long COVID thing is a great excuse but I think is the real reason...I can't remember having heard Dave sound like this before & those are well thought out and deep seated feelings he's bringing out...he clearly can't stand Eric
"This guy has constantly talked s--- about me, Stephen [Perkins] and Perry [Farrell], and quit our band twice to quote unquote, pursue all of these really intense solo creative artistic output. All these different mediums that he's going to, get into or whatever, where is it? Where's all the s--- that he's doing? I don't know. I wouldn't be so vocal about it if he didn't do a feature length film talking s--- about all three of us."

Adding to his rant, Navarro stated, "He quits Jane's. He got thrown out of Garbage, he got rehired by Garbage, he's in Nails, now he's out of Nails. I mean, what the f--- is the problem here? You know what I mean? Me, Perk and Perry have managed to put everything aside for 30 years."

But they already canceled the Latin America tour in early 2022 because of his Long Covid. Chaney was still in the band, and there were no signs of Avery coming.

Per the RS article they smoothed it over at some point.

I do hope Dave is staying true to his word and working on new songs. This go around the goal should be to release new music with the original lineup. Touring they can figure out down the line- it’s very possibly five months from now he is back to 100% and can make the South American dates

eye have my doubts about any music created over zoom .. if the 4 guys aren't in the room jamming and fleshing out these ideas then its probably just another perry solo album with different players ..

I really hope we get new music but yeah—I’m doubtful it’ll be more than a 2-3 songs

In contrast it’s insane to me that RHCP shave put out two double albums ( like 36 or something ) new songs in a few months

That impossible for JA, but — I hope we get like a ten song album

In that recent Rolling Stone article, they specifically address this. Dave and Eric got on the phone not long after that and smoothed things over.

We are far from the days when Uncle Perry ran the circus that is Jane’s ..Dave and Stephen are grown men today and probably steer that ship together equally? , I have a really hard time believing Eric was invited back to the fold without all of them being fully onboard? ..Perhaps even at their urging? ..Dave is as recognizable or perhaps even more so than Perry these days? ..Stephen and Perry’s relationship extended beyond Jane’s and have a reunion with Porno which is probably why Peter didn’t fill in? ..Giving that beautiful creature its own space to blossom and bare fruit? …I would hope any petty bickering and past issues are squashed? ..I really believe this isn’t a final cash grab but a way to respect what they created with a potential possibility of one last creative blast off? 🚀
