Religious imagery of the Ritual era

#1 Post by Tyler Durden » Mon Sep 26, 2022 3:10 pm

Anyone know why the band used Christian/Catholic saints in their artwork/merch during the ritual era? Specifically, what was the significance of them using Saint Lucy and Saint Bernadette on their shirts?

I always wondered if they were trying offend religious people or be more edgy than the Satanic metal scene at the time. :noclue:

At that time, Perry and Casey were into santeria, an afrocuban religion that merges catholic principles with other beliefs. That's the main reason, quoting them.

I remember that they were into Santeria. I just never really understood the significance of the saints on their t-shirts.
