Etty goes all the way back to Relapse, no? That's where they met. I don't care if there are dancers, so long as it's done properly. That video doesn't bother me much. I'll reserve judgement until we see what it all looks like. I have to think Eric wants (and even Perry it now seems) for the band to restore its luster, and aren't going to allow anything ridiculous.

I agree and don't think Eric would be cool with anything too far. Minus the off-count backup singing, I didn't mind Etty and her dance partner at all during the P4P Lollapalooza set.

Rhythm section swings way more with Eric instead of Chaney. I do not like what I’m hearing in the guitar dept. Nope.

I like that Perry is drowning in reverb.

It’s just super weird to hear just a chunky guitar sound that’s being playing pretty sloppy and loose on these songs.

Eric and Stephen though are twin monsters — it’s amazing what a Eric brings to Stephen when they are both playing together

Set - they're opening, and they played only 2-3 fewer songs that a usual headline show. Not sure this is a surprise. The only surprise in above is Dave's absence - certainly not expecting new material when they have a hired gun on guitar. My only qualm here is the weak set list - why go through the motions a few months ago to ask people what they wanted to hear, only to then shovel the same shit. I wasn't expecting deep cuts to begin with, but this is only the first night. That said, again...no real surprise.

My take on this is that EA being back in the fold still gives me plenty of reason not to fire sale my tickets.

Eric has enormous good will with me ( and I shape t all the hardcore fans ) so I’m in for the whole haul. I know he’s going to do everything he can to make things great.

I really love Troy but he seems as out of place in this band as Duff did. The solo sounds decent enough I guess
