Here’s the best footage I’ve seen of the Washington show…

That drum intro into Up the Beach is great. I always forget how well Up the Beach sets the stage for the show. Getting excited
And I'm consciously trying not to blow anything out of proportion with these shows too, keeping with our realistic ANR takes on this band and their current deliveries  . But the drumming backtrack, lights cutting out to EA's silhouette peering over the crowd, and the first bass chord hitting gave me serious chills and goosebumps.

The video does not do justice to seeing/hearing/feeling it in person. I was initially wondering if they really just happened to really turn it on in Tampa, but it seems to still be the case going into all of the shows.

I’ve always compartmentalized Billy Corgan’s love of wrestling. Hey, most of us are complex people with a wide array of interests and eclectic tastes…but when his day job and hobby collide 🤦🏻‍♂️. We may complain about Etty and the “dancing”, but at least Perry isn’t pulling these antics on stage during a Jane’s set…

What in the fuck
My sentiment exactly.

Cringe factor: high

No, decided to pass on this tour. A Monday night concert sucks when you have to work early the next day. If JA tour again as the headliner in a smaller venue like History or Massey Hall- I'm there!

I think Hype's going.

Troy is not Dave. But the show is basically super heroes come to life. Perry seems clear, coherent, aware. Eric and Stephen’s bring it. Troy rocks, and Daniel Ash is super entertaining. Can’t complain.

As a fan in my forties — this was FANTASTIC.

The band was in great spirits and crowd was into it. Perry sounded wonderful. Eric and Stephen are a twin headed monster.

ERIC! He’s like a totally different person. Smiling and interacting with Perry.

At one point Perry talked about coming to NYC for 30 years and asked anyone if they had memories. Eric said he remembers ODing at the Chelsea hotel lol — Perry’s like okay, not a great memory and laughed.

Slice of Life was sick.

Josh came out for Three Days as well and ripped that solo at the end.

The middle part of Three Days was super atmospheric — after the drum solo, it’s just Eric — and very 8 notes Stephen hits the toms and, I’ve heard a lot live versions and this was really heavy and intense.

Troy was great, chunky but he and band are really tight at this point.

I got to seat a minute before the player and and hour later I was out. Back in Brooklyn probably as Pumpkins took stage.

Short and sweet and no filler. Tons of energy and at the end everyone looked so happy.

I desperately wished Dave was there but I guess this was the 6 or 7th time ( second with Eric ) and it’s the happiest and most focused I’ve seen the band

I loved it.

Jane's at MSG was fantastic. Is it technology lol? Perry sounds great. And I am loving Troy in the band. They sound the way I want Jane's with Dave to sound lol. So fresh and dirty.

I stayed for the 1st 45 minutes of pumpkins. Which now feels like a Marilyn Manson show lol. Lame imo. Jane's should be headliner.

Like Jane's, it looks like Pumpkins are playing the same set list every night, and are playing very few of my favorites. That's disappointing. I'd avoided looking at their setlists until now, but at least I know now which song to leave after.

Oh they were loud! I was on floor row 25.. sounded so loud! So good. But I never want to see Jane's in a seated arena again. They need to have the gen admin area and play smaller venues. Hopefully they are looking at this tour as a warm up for better things to come.
And did I mention how lame pumpkins are lol. I can't believe I used to love them.

I hope Josh and Daniel Ash stay on the rest of the tour, but I somehow doubt that happens. Would be pretty cool if they brought in some other people later on in the tour.

I have a suspicion that Dave may end up at LA show.

I can’t recommend you see this show if you can.

Last time I saw Jane’s was Rockstar Energy thing with Alice In Chains I think…That show was a forgettable as it gets.

This was legit shocking. I can’t believe how good Perry sounded.

My expectations for new music is off the charts

Fuck I hope they are at Philly… they might as well play the rest of the east coast.

Anyone going to the Philly gig… I recommend getting there super early. Phillies game is at 7:30 but there will be a lot of tailgating and will be a shit show trying to get into the complex

Great reviews! Thanks, guys!

Super encouraging to hear that my thoughts from the 4th show don't seem to be a one-night fluke.

Perry and Eric joking and laughing with each other is a trip to see, right?

Super jealous you guys got to see Daniel Ash AND Josh AND Ocean Size!

Dave has long Covid. That's the official reason given, but who knows. Some speculate that he may have relapsed and is trying to get clean again.
He got married to a younger woman who is about 30 but looks 16. Oh, and he got a new car, a Mustang. He's been doing a lot of art and galavanting about in multiple states. Also working on new JA music. :noclue:

Troy Van Leeuwen has been filling in for him. At first the ANRers weren't sure about him fitting in as his style is different from Dave's, but he has grown on everyone it seems, and even glowing reviews about his playing adding a dirty feel to the Jane's sound. Recently, since the Boston show, Daniel Ash and Josh Klinghoffer have made guest appearances. Maybe Dave will turn up near the end of the tour.

Perry and Eric have been getting great reviews, looks like the old chemistry is back. Um, what else? Etty is sticking to dancing.

I would love to hear a Daniel Ash contribution on new Jane’s material. It would be epic. And why not at this point?
