Very bothered I haven’t seen a video of Trip Away

Also SP phoning it in. I saw a clip of Corgan eating chips and salsa during his show

He was snacking in between songs at the Tampa show too.

I know he's passed out a few times onstage over the years, oddly enough when I saw SP in Tampa in 2010. Maybe it's hypoglycemia related? :noclue:

looks like a lot of people who missed 1.0* finally are learning the facts of the matter...it's not the same fucking band/monster without EA
what's struck me going through this thread is just how many people never saw 1.0. But, it's really cool to read how many peeps are digging this.
I was lucky to see them three times pre-breakup. I was east coast then; had I been west, I’m sure it would be more. With that as my point of reference, I was super sad about the show I saw in ‘09. This run is way closer in energy, but obviously Perry is an older dude now.

I didn't feel like they were phoning it in at the show I saw. I just don't like this version of The Smashing pumpkins. Vampire Billy dad dancing across the stage was not what I was hoping for.

It’s amazing Billy got 3/4 of his band back. Don’t mind that D’arcy isn’t there. She went off the deep end unfortunately.

My NINJA show was a yawner too. I'm not sure how many times I have seen 1.0 back in 88-91. I know I was at Scream when they played, and my memory insists I saw them at Power Tools downstairs in the lobby, but there is no record of them being there. Tbh, I was only half there, if that. Saw Lolla in Irvine. Wished I had made the Anson Ford show, but alas....I can't complain.

The first time I saw JA was in 1991 at Lolla then again in 2001 when they were doing the 2 stage set-up. Then, twice in 2003 (Lolla Cincinatti & Massey Hall Toronto), NINJA tour 2009, TGEA 2011.

If they tour again in 2023 as a headliner, I will go for sure if EA stays!

I'm not sure when he was touring with The Damned, but sounds like they knew for a while Dave wasn't going to play. He also was sure to stress that Dave is coming back. Seems like a chill guy, so I can see why they picked him as a replacement.

Had A Dad
Idiots Rule
Trip Away

were the ones I was hoping for and I'm glad they're switching up the sets a bit. Old JA tours it was the same paint by numbers setlist.

Had a Dad sounds fantastic.

Perry gives Eric a little hug at the start of Three Days (still weird to see) and then subsequently fucks up the lyrics. I'm not sure I've ever heard Perry mess up before.

Also says he talked to Dave on the phone a little bit about it

I may be in the minority, but I love Had a Dad and am psyched to see it in the set. Man, Perry is hitting the Ocean notes powerful and clear as a bell. Maybe I will go to the Portland gig and bail before SP.
