It think it’s kind of an awkward edit in the video rather thank avoiding talking about Dave.

I agree. The pacing in the conversation transitions a bunch dude to the editing.

Billy’s talking to Perry as if Perry isn’t the reason he’s there. And SP needed Jane’s to do this tour.

I think any perceived awkwardness in that interview is more about Perry realizing Dave’s Place in the band and he’s got to sell this touring version of it and make it work? ..Dave and Perry have a mild Jimmy Page & and Plant chemistry ..it’s usually loose and they can spin off and know where to go by eye contact..Perhaps not having that comfortable automatic has made these shows more dangerous and full of energy? Dave will hopefully ride the energy wave with em’ when he’s ready?..If I was Dave?.. After the warm response? I’d probably be itching to jump in while the waters warm!!!
